Unfortunatlely these beings are physical based on the description given in the book and nowhere ever says that they are spirits.
The most logical place u can put them outside of religion is in what we refer to as aliens. They even interbred with us. Gen-6:4, so some of us have their genes.
Beings from outside of earth (some say heaven), who have a higher form of knowledge which they sometimes share with us thus they are also called messagers.

Earth angels are simply those holy servants of God that once were born into mortality on this earth, died or translated, and then elevated to their solitary status for the eternities.
