I have a friend that needs a copy of her ex-spouses tax return, is there anyway to get this legally? I know that you can request your own tax return, but can you request if for another person?

She's looking to get it for purposes of trying to pursue child support.

No, definitely not, you can't unless that person has given you power of attorney, which obviously wouldn't apply in this case.

The court can order him to produce a copy of his tax return though, and likely would as part of a hearing for child support.

The only way to get the COURT to look at it would be to go to court and have them subpoena it. An individual does not have the right to see anyone elses tax return.

No, it's none of your damn business. If it were I'd get a copy of YOUR tax return.
