Do yourself (and your bank account in the long run!) a favour and buy from a reputable breeder. You may pay more for the puppy up front, but you will be assured that the dam & sire have been health screened prior to breeding. Danes can have lots of health problems - gastric torsion, congenital heart defects, cardiomyopathy, wobbler’s syndrome, cataracts, hip dysplasia, osteosarcoma, and hypertrophic osteodystrophy. A good breeder will get a hip clearance and certify for heart/eyes and thyroid before breeding. They also know the dog's background several generations back so won't breed a dog that has had issues with torsion or wobblers syndrome or has an aggressive tempermant. You can't get that from a backyard breeder!
The Great Dane Club of America has a list of breeders at http://www.gdca.org/breedermap.htm, plus lots of other information.

Hmmmm.... The truth is here. I have three. 1 Male and 2 females.
Great Danes usually cost between 650.00 to several thousand. But consider this before you buy. To initially buy a Dane is the cheap side of things.
Great Danes require a lot of maintenance and Vet care. Danes are well noted for bloating in a stressful situation which can lead to death if not cared for immediately.
1 Great Dane can consume 1 55 lb bag of food each week if fed properly. Depending on it's activities. Each bag of high maint. food can cost between 17.00 to 35.00. Danes are a decendant breed from Germany, they are a mix between a bulldog and a Greyhound and were bred as boar hunting dogs. Our male can jump and catch a bird, all of them catch squirells and rabbits. They are very gentle dogs, and are big babies. And are very trainable.
Now, the doggy poo....ever see horse poo? The Danes are about the same.
So as far as cost? Buy today, but think of future costs also.
I added this: The last vet bill was 650.00, he tangled with a chipmunk and the little creature bit max on his groins. The bigger the dog the more expensive the treatment. A worming is expensive also, all dogs need periodic worming and the worm meds are based on weight. Max weighs 160 lbs, and has to have about 30.00 in worm meds. They also have a short life expectancy, normally around 8 to 10 years. The breeder we bought from, will not allow him to breed unless she knows the history of the Dam. She made us sign a contract prior to letting us have the AKC papers.
So lots to consider but Danes are a good dog, just very expensive to upkeep

i dunno if you are just talking about the initial cost...
but bigger dogs cost more money.... big bones vs smaller bones are at least twice as expensive and they can tear them up in half an hour..... count on them being 5-10 dollars per bone.... Big toys cost more than small toys (about double).. price varies by type of toy..
they also cost more at certain vet offices according to weight... if they need medicine they need more of it compared to smaller dogs
they will also eat a lot more than smaller dogs.... Big dog food bags can be from 30-50 dollars depending on the quality and they can go through that in 1.5-2 weeks....
