I have a seven year old female fixed boxer bulldog mix, I can tell you than if an stranger or neighbor comes to close to my daughter or our new puppy, she barks and between them
The ability to protect does not go away if they are fixed

He will still protect his family and his home. If you want a true protection dog you will need some expensive training. Neutering him will knock his attitude down a notch but his breed characteristics arent carried down there, they are in his blood. Neuter him if you arent going to breed.

Neutering will not negatively impact his desire to protect your or his home.
It will allow you great opportunity to work with him with out his being distracted by the wish for a lady - and therefore increase your bond.

A dog will protect. Mine are all altered an my neighbor controls them with a house and she has known them as long as me. She calls one of them Cujo and none of them have been trained to protect at all.

Neutering a dog will have NOTHING to do with size, aggression or anything, but it curbs it's idea of being a "runner". That's about it.

No, he will not. There will be no testosterone in his system, no hormones to make him the male that he is now. Go read a great answer under one of my questions before you do anything, FIRST.
