As the holy spirit and God are both of the trinity. If not then what exactly is this blasphemy of the spirit. I feel such a irredeemable sin deserves to have more said about it in the bible to make it clear or how can we avoid it?

There is a difference. Blaspheme is a forgivable sin, with the exception being blaspheme of the Holy Spirit.

To blaspheme the Spirit is to blaspheme the Truth, after you have seen its Glory.

To deny God, having known him.

It is quite hard for a man to do, because you would have to personally see God, yet deny him like the Pharisees when they accused Him of casting out demons in the name of Satan.

You would truly have to hate God to not admit his holiness when you have personally bore witness to it.

It would be equivalent of having Christ die for you again, a 2nd time, which would be pure disgrace.

Satan, for one, falls in this category. He will not be forgiven.

You have to remember who kept on putting trap questions to J'esus most of the time: the Pharisees. Sometimes, Herodians and Sadducees too. You see, they did not believe J'esus was a rabbi which was a title of honor given to a teacher of the Mosaic Law. They knew that Christ claimed the right to interpret the Law (see Mt. 5:20-48) but as he wasn't one of their sect (in the sense of religious school or group) they wouldn't concede any such right to Him. So the title "rabbi" given him by the lawyer/Pharisees is insincere. Now, to answer your question, you have to remember that the Holy Spirit is the third Divine person of the Trinity. "Ultimately, all sin is against G-d. Sin against the Holy Spirit is serious because the Holy Spirit is the One who convicts us of sin. Blasphemy against the Holy Spirit can't be forgiven. Conviction preceded repentance. Without the convicting Spirit, we can't find forgiveness. Blasphemy against the Spirit is the willful and blatant act of attributing to Satan that which is clearly the work of the Holy Spirit. This terrible sin occurs when a person consciously rejects the truth, believing Satan rather than G-d. G-d won't forgive such blatant rebellion. The nature of the problem is debated. Has the heart become so hardened the person can't distinguish good from evil or can't repent? Or does G-d of His own free choice close the door to any possible repentance? Some have attempted to give a catalog of "unforgivable" sins, but the New Testament doesn't list any other sins beyond forgiveness. We must be cautious not to apply the doctrine in the wrong way. People who feel such a yearning for salvation may be sure the Spirit continues to work in their lives. Where the Spirit works, grace for forgiveness is available. Some people in desperation or anger shake a fist and complain to G-d. They are simply repeating the actions of many of the psalmists. They aren't guilty of the unforgivable sin. The doctrine of the unforgivable sin is a warning against overconfidence and religious blindness, not a temporary wrongdoing." * And you don't need a degree to answer this, you just need a good commentary of the Gospel.

I don't believe there's any sin which, if we repent of, cannot be forgiven. As God says in Isaiah (paraphrasing): 'Let us reason together: though your sins be red as scarlet, I will make you as white as snow.'

I have been afraid of this sometimes, but I think that since God's love is boundless, he would not disqualify us from forgiveness for any reason. I believe that, even for this blasphemy, God forgives us immediately, but what is required to restore a functional relationship with God is also repentance on our part. 'Forgiveness' in this context seems to mean a restoration of such a relationship, and thus salvation, since the ins and outs of our minds are nothing to God to forgive, and he loves us endlessly!

To conclude, it seems to me reasonable to think that blasphemy against the Holy Spirit is a kind of sin that we are incapable of repenting of. On the other hand, being angry and cursing God is something that can be done in anger and ignorance, but that we can easily feel profoundly sorry about later.

I can't give the reference but I think the sin that will not be forgiven is to grieve the Holy Spirit. Don't worry, it is not something that you can do by the odd stray thought or action. I would think you would have to really change inside and mean absolutely beyond any doubt to curse the H.S.Even then I think the widest possible latitude would be given this side of someone like Hitler or Stalin.

Denying the power of the Holyspirit. Taking credit for what God has done. The spirit works in and through us....when a person sees a change and knows the word of God....yet he says it is the work of a devil! That is blasphemy. When we refuse to acknowlege God in everyday life what is said; our actions and it is all about us....that is denying the spirit within.
Romans 1:28-32.

No. Read the Scripture. Jesus is saying to the Pharisees that just condemned Him for "doing miracles, healings" by the "power of Beelzebub" (Satan)"...that such blasphemy is unforgivable.

To say that the works of the Holy Spirit are attributable to Satan is "blasphemy of the Holy Spirit".

The Bible is clear....look at the context.

Blasphemy of the Holy Spirit is: not forgiving, and not accepting forgiveness when its offered. It's simply having no forgiveness at all. It's about holding grudges. It's about loving to hate people. It's about not letting someone make amends.
It's about not attempting to make amends yourself. It's about blaming and punishing someone for something they did not intend to do, or for something they did not do at all. It's about thinking you can 'get away' with something that you know to be wrong 'just one more time' (gambling).
Angry feelings, and sometimes angry words and wrath, always follow an experience of unreasonable fear. Angry words directed at God may be forgiven. People might not be so easy! But you'll never know until you try.

Honestly, I dont think it is an unforgivable sin to speak disrespectful angry words to God. Then you just may be taking your complaint to the right address.....He can do something with that.
However, I always thought that blasphemy of the Holy Spirit could only be commited by people with the HOly Spirit.
ie. we believers........whatever it is I am sure it looks different than we think....
