My father was an incredible dad until my parents got divorced when I was 18 so I don't want to leave him out or make him feel bad. But my step-father has really taken over the real role of father ever since... my fiance asked him permission to marry me and all....
and I love him... want to honor him but can't hurt my father.

Someone suggested having my father walk me halfway down the aisle and my step father finishing the walk... but I think that's too awkward and than my father doesn't give me away.

My fiance and I have already decided we are having two father daughter dances....

we thought about having my step-father escort my mother down the aisle right before the Man of Honor comes down... so they are more prominent....

any ideas?

If your father is OK with the role that your step father has taken in your life, then have them both walk you down the aisle together. Also at the reception, you could say a little speech to the both of them. Honor thy father and thy step-father, that's the biblical saying right? lol...just kidding, but it's an idea. Congrats on the wedding, best of luck and best wishes.

having him walk your mom down the aisle is a great idea.
maybe have a special dance with him at the reception too.
it's kinda difficult to fit in the expanded familys in to the wedding ceremonies now a days

yeah, thats a good idea that the step comes down with your mom....

or just have the first dance with your real dad,, and then announce the next dance with your step father... that's nice..

remember its your family at the wedding.... so it really dosen't matter too much how you do it.. everyone gets the idea..

I say have them both walk you down the aisle. This is what my sister did...she had her birth father and my father walk her down the aisle...it was touching.

have 2 father - daughter dances.

let your biological father have the first one so he doesn't feel imposed on and your step father have the second one this way he will know that you do view him as a father figure.
