Most artists won't tattoo you if they know you're pregnant.
And it's a terrible idea.
Why would you jeopardize your baby's health anyway.
Just wait, you cant get as many tatts as you want once you've had your child.

The ink is harmless and does not go deeper than just the upper skin. BUT, there is a chance of infection or even more serious problems that can develop from a dirty needle or unsanitary tattoo studio. Save the tattoo till after the baby is born. It's safer for both of you.

I have to agree with the link "Jules" posted. There are some risks but nothing totally proven to harm the baby, aside from possibly passing out as some people do and I would think that you are more likely to pass out when pregnant. I would have to say wait until after baby is born...besides that will give you time to look over the tat idea more!
Good Luck with baby and congrats!

Getting a tattoo while you're pregnant is not only dangerous for you but it is especially dangerous for the little one inside of you.
When I got my tattoo I had to sign to forms. The first one was to say that I had no drugs or alcohol in my body. The second one was to state that I was not pregnant

yes!! Im not sure if you could get it on you arm and hurt the baby. But dont get it anywhere close to you belly. You shouldnt be getting a tattoo at all if you are pregnant! WHat i would do is wait till the baby is delivered then after a month or so i would get it then just to be safe!

I don't think it is a matter of safety, but a matter of how it will look once you deliver the baby, when your pregnant as you are no doubt aware, you experience swelling, your body is stretching and growing to accommodate the new life growing inside you and after you have your bundle of joy, your body goes somewhat back to normal, I would recommend waiting so that the integrity of the tattoo is not destroyed.

Yes, you should wait until 3 months after giving birth to continue tattooing. That's what my sister's tattoo artist told her.

If it's done properly, it probably won't hurt the baby, but why risk it? You are only pregnant for 9 months, why not just wait? It will go by fast. Waiting would be better than potentially damaging your baby for life, right?

No, not safe. It is not good for the baby and in fact, if you get to the tattoo parlor, they have you fill out a form and if you're pregnant, they won't tattoo you.

Well if you rreeaallly can't wait go to somewhere nice. If it is expensive deal cuz its probably worth it but if I were you I would not risk it. Also if you do end up getting one dont get one huge massive thing its probably not setting a great example for your child. True that is an opinion but I think something small would be cute. Hope this helped.
