check your newspapers, expecially on sundays.
Also check with your banks in the area. Many times they have to sell cars which were previously owned..
ANother great spot is police auctions. Really good deal..

call the um,,,........um............Auto Repo shops. If after 60 days someone doesn't pay their auto bill. THe car automatically becomes theirs. ANd you can get another title

Go to some of those car lots without big budgets. Not one of those auto malls, just "Jimmy's Used Cars." But, just like the other guy said, have a trusted mechanic check it out. You may even get the guy at the car lot to let you drive the car for a day.

But get the car inspected by a reputable mechanic before purchasing. A car for under $2000 is bound to have some problems.

There are some out there from private individuals. I would NOT recommend a dealer in this case. I would not purchase or waste my time looking at E bay or craigs list cars

Let me tell you how i found mine, i went to the getto side of my town and start looking on garages who was selling his car after i while i ask one guy who was washing his car how much would he like for his car and i got a dodge neon 99 for $1800
