My mom's birthday is today. Me and my 3 sisters had talked about getting her a lawn appliance, so my one sister said she would check into how much they are and get back to us. Well she never got back to us, so I went and bought my mom a gift ($30), then my other sister calls and asks if I will pick up a cake ($20) and now my other sister shows up with the lawn appliance ($35 each sister)! I feel $85 is way too much to spend on a birthday. I don't know what to do, I only wanted to spend $50 tops. Are they taking advantage or should I just forget it?

since your broke u can do some chores and get allowance. or u can help out a neighbor and get a summer job.

they might be taking advantage of u because they wanted u to get the cake instead of them. they didn't want to spend 20 dollars on a cake.

your trying your best to make your mom's birthday wonderful. keep up the good work and maybe you can tell your sisters to pick up some things instead of u since they did that to u.

I would tell them they are too late. You didn't want to wait until the last minute so you already got her something. I would also mention for the future that you would maybe not count on them to get back to you. As for the cake, ask them to split it with you. I don't think it's too much for a birthday its a special day, but you could just think how you topped them. Good luck.

let them know you already got something else, because of their delay in getting back to you.

your other sisters can give her the lawn appliance...

don't let them rook you out of $35 you don't want to spend. i'm sure they can handle about $50 each, can't they? if not, they need to figure out a different gift item.

take care.
