I dye my hair to cover grays. What brand/type would you recommend that is safest for your hair? Please don't recommend going to a stylist. Also, I don't think henna is a good solution - too red and complicated.

I've been using a semi-permanent level 1. I have dark brown hair and I've been using a medium ash brown dye. Blends pretty well but it washes out quickly. Need to color about every 2-3 weeks.

Use henna. It's natural and good for your hair!

Henna, it's actually good for your hair and has no chemicals. It comes in many of the same colours that standard hair dyes come in as well.

Loreal Preference is the best i think. but its different for every one because we all have our opinions. but do not get garner fructis, it leaves ur hair greasy and the color only lasts 2 weeks! it sucked. i wish you good luck!
OH AND U CAN USE WOMEN DYE TOO, ITS THE SAME THING

I don't dye my hair but I'd probably trust Garnier Nutrisse because I like their deep conditioner so much.

You didn't get any good answers. So far, all the store bought boxed dyes I've tried are crap because they fade really fast and always lighten to an orangey red.

You should use a semi-permenet that will fade out after about 2-3 weeks. and if you don't like it, it fades out really fast.

ganier nutrisse is really gentle and smells good, and natural match by loreal has no ammonia so i think that would be similar.
