How can I make the rice grains or kernels, etc. puff?

By heating them up at an extremley high temperature, but thats unsafe. Grocery stores sell puffed wheat,millet,rice, and corn in the stores already, so I suggest just buying a bag instead. Also, is you want them all in one, Kasi 7-grain cereal is all the puffed grains in one conveinent box.
