i am protecting by working with homesecurity with the local base of citizen corp and helping in emergencies and disasters with the red cross.

what do you do? and why or why not protecting your country

good question.Frustrating to have to deal with a bunch of liberal Bush Bashers isn't it.
In answer to your question,my company provides HVAC coils to all branches of the military.We also work with other manufacturers on R & D for advanced robotic weapons systems.I am also the Commander of a local American Legion Post as well as a life member of the VFW and the American Legion.Both organizations have on-going programs to assist active duty military members as well as their families.both organizations also have many programs to assist our returning veterans.
If you are helping your country in any way,hold your head high and be proud.Thank you for your help during this war.

The EXTREME LEFT in this country, including the MEDIA would rather see the destruction of the U.S.A. and the establishment of a MARXIST/SOCIALIST regime. The Democratic Party wants a loss so they can regain power in Government. They work very hard to assure defeat!
You are up against strong forces that want the opposite of your wishes.
Support all efforts to succeed in this WORLD WAR against terror. Attempt to educate others about what is REALLY happening.

I am protecting my country. I speak out against Bush whenever possible. He messed up big time. He isn't waging a war on terror. He's waging a war for oil . 9/11 was just a tragic event that allowed him to do it. I love the US. But hate our president and I support the troops but not the war that they should not have to be fighting.

Don't know where you got your info, but most people are not against the war on terror. We all wish it would just go away, because we hate death and vilence, but it won't and we ARE for fighting back agains terrorism. You can fight back simply by not allowing the terrorists to scare you away from your everyday plans. Or you can take an active roll in many ways, from enlisting in the military, to joining any number of institutions that help protect the innocent.

You're great. Did that help? Listen, there is no war on terror. There can't possibly be a war on terror. We are waging what the government assures us is a war against some terrorists, but that's not a war on terror. Terror is a feeling, how can we wage war against a feeling?

Bobbi, Thank you for doing your part. Yes, that is an important part of protecting the country.

I've spent most of the last 6 years in parts of the world where electricity and plumbing are extreme luxuries and our enemy lives, breeds and kills their own, doing my part.

Now, I'm trying to educate those that oppose my mission, while I take some much needed time trying to figure out why the American people seem to have their head stuck in the sand.

They didn't answer your question because their only honest answer would have been: "Nothing but watching Paris Hilton." or as one said supporting the enemy by eroding support for our mission. (and yes, I'm translating from her propaganda.)

As an American I firmly against terror and support going to war with those who would kill every man, woman and child in the USA. Don't confuse the lack of support for our current strategy in Iraq with people not supporting the war on terror.

Most Americans are not against the war on terror.
Bush decided to go and fight another war.
Iraq is not the war on terror.
Don't confuse being against the war in Iraq with being against the war on terror.

Yes I am sure your work with the red cross will stop someone from blowing up an oil refinery.

What a crock. Most Americans are NOT against the war on terror. They are against a war that should not have been waged against a country that did NOT supply money, humans, intelligence in the attack on the US. I see you drank the Bush koolaid.
The war on terror was against Al Qaeda.where were they located? Afghanistan. No American is speaking out against the war in Afghanistan because intelligent people know that was where the leaders of Al Qaeda had been based and are still there. BTW, What ever happened to the that " Wanted Dead or Alive OBL" statement issued by Bush himself? Oh yeah that's right, Bush is not thinking about him that much and does not care where he is ( his own words less than 6 months later)
Bush's pre-emptive attack on a country that was no threat to us became the rallying cry for terrorists world wide. Thanks to him, terrorist cells have grown instead of dwindled because HE gave them their cause celebre.
Helping in emergencies and disasters- well give yourself a round of applause. The disaster that was the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina happened because their own National Guard was in Iraq.
I protect my country by speaking out against travesties that it does. Being a patriot is not being loyal to the government but being loyal to the country itself. Learn that.
People need to be reminded- those who do not learn from past mistakes, whether by them or by others, are condemned to repeat them.
Germany did the loyal to government and blind to its faults and kept their mouths shut- result- the holocaust. Then the populace stated they did not know what their government was doing, they just felt they had to be loyal to their government
