Are you talking about inside or out? If you go to a paint store or a Home Depot/Lowes type of place they have catalogs of paint colors with pictures to give you an idea of what colors will look like together, and a lot of them are broken into catagories like kitchen, bathroom, etc.

get a colour wheel and see which colours complement each other, you can find them in art shops. IN general a light cream will amtch almost everything, such as a magnolia colour. Try bringing a sample of all the colours which need to flow to the paint shop with you and holding them up against the colours on the paint cans.
Be aware paining a house is A LOT of work, so get a sprayer and make sure you totally cover your windows.

Do like a professional and make some color boards. Get some mount board and cut it into 11x17" sheets. Designate each for a different room in your new house. Look at your furniture and snip a material sample from the underside or take a photograph of it and place them on the appropriate board. Add other pictures of furniture and elements that will be in each room on their designated boards.
Now get out your fan deck and begin selection colors for the rooms. This will help you select an appropriate color for each room AND develop an over all feel and flow of the house. You can easily spot colors that are out of place and adjust them accordingly. Stand back every so often and look at the overall feel of everything.
Hope this helps! Good luck and happy painting!

Get a solid primer and you extra often than not want 2 coats i do no longer care how lots you spend on the paint. 4 months should not be a situation... you're able to do a room a weekend person-friendly, and could prob. do extra !!! It relies upon on what a workday is to you. Get all your components waiting so which you would be able to arise and initiate working straight away away. Get a tall ladder to decrease in with a broom on the ceiling or tape off rather properly and use a curler. Get an telescoping extension on your curler cope with and you may do vaulted ceilings person-friendly. Use a minimum of an eggshell end and in case you carry a similar colour throughout the time of it is going to likely be extra convenient for you as a newbie. i'm 5'5 and that i painted our centred visitor cottage that has 24' ceilings with the aid of myself. you may cost out getting a expert to do the vaulted rooms and do the others your self. solid success

If you go and get some samples from the paint store then take them in and around the house to see if you like what you see.
Also there are computer programs I've heard of that you could take pictures then change the colors in the pictures to see if you like them but I have not seen this in action.

You must look at what you must match or complement or avoid. Look to see what color the roof is or other parts of the house you cannot change such as brick, stone, etc. Look at the near neighbors house and avoid using the same colors they do. Then pick colors that are not intense or too colorful, like purple, but that you like and go with the roof and other fixed colors. Go to a home center and look at the color brochures that give colors in sets, pick the basic color you like and then go with the trim and accent colors given in the color set in the pamphlet.

Well the color is your own opinion because its YOUR house. Yet dont pick a crazy color like Pink. lol. and buy one of those airbrush sprayer things. Dont use a paint brush. Only use a paint brush for the tiny bits of wood. not the entire house. The sprayer will evenly coat the house and get it done faster instead of having half your house painted by night.
Hope this helps.

If your going to live in this house for the foreseeable future paint it ANY color and ANY scheme your heart desires. ( its YOUR crib you need to dig it ) If Its a house that you bought to flip, pick colors that stand out ever so slightly to the neighborhood homes. In a nut shell paint it to live in for now then paint it later to sell.

Talk to your husband and see if you two could agree on certain colors. I like the colors lavendar, lime green, peace, Yellow always look nice in a kitchen. I would suggest that you could pick at least 2 colors for a room and paint each room a different color.
