Make sure it is okay with your mother first. I don't recommend it, but this is how girls did it when I was in school. Sterilize a needle...this is VERY important!!! Hold a piece of ice on your ear where you want to pierce it until it feels numb. Continue holding the ice on the spot. Then push the needle through the spot you want against the ice. Immediately put a non-allergic earring in the hole. Leave those earrings in for at least 6 weeks. Several times a day put hydrogen peroxide or another healing agent on your ears around the earrings. Do NOT forget this step, because your ears can get VERY infected until they heal!! That's it!! Best wishes!!

well to do it properly you would need some of those earrings that come in either the little plastic gun or in the little plastic piercer that they use to pierce your ear...you can get those at Sally's Beauty Supply and a lot of other beauty stores. They aren't too hard to find. BUT I wouldn't recommend doing it on your own. Not that there is much of anything in the top of your ear but cartilage and capillaries. It just hurts and you want to get it in a decent spot. It's still going to cost you money to buy the earrings. A lot of places in malls will pierce your ear for free as long as you buy the earrings :-)

Dont! This is an extreamly dangerouse place to pierce your ear yourself. A friend of mine did this and it got infected so badly that she actually lost a very small part of her ear. I watched her do it and she steralised the needle and everything etc

I got my Helix done professionly and still got a small infection, it is a very high risk area as all the dirt from your hair etc gets into the back of it.

Well Hun. . . get a job! Do some chores and get money. Put sure as hell DONT do it by yourself. If you do your setting yourself up for some sore ears cuz if u do it ur self u`ll get an infection and your ear will swell and turn red, blue, black. And you`ll be in a lot of pain!

Hope this helps. . .

If you end up with an infection (very likely doing it yourself) then you have much bigger bills to pay. Save your money and get it done properly. Ask if you can use the money from returning bottles or something each week..maybe you can just earn the money?

Do not do it yourself. You run a high risk of piercing through your nerves and you also run a high risk of infection. I suggest finding some way to get the money, and then getting it done by a professional. Do not do it yourself.

DON'T DO IT !..

Get it professionally done...or do not come crying here when your ear turns green and has to be surgically removed from the side of your head !

If you were just peircing the lobe...no big deal...but the cartilage is trickier, more painful....and would be a bigger problem if it became septic.

You should wait until you get some money.

An ear piercing you're doing yourself isn't worth getting some infectious disease...

very unsanitary...

Because you would be poking a hole through cartilage I suggest you wait until you have the money to get it done professionally. With a peircing gun it is quick and fast and you don't feel anything, but doing it yourself is gonna hurt....a lot.

ouch!! I can't think of any way that wouldn't hurt like hell. Professionals have special instruments that work very quickly so it only hurts for a second. I would just try to save up some money. I don't think that it costs very much.
