They NEED rainwater or distilled water if you want them to live longer than a week. Tap-water is deadly poison to them. And they should have an acidic soil, ideally peat, which is available at all garden centres, home and garden stores, and nurseries. If you can supply these things then you should have no difficulty. You don't have to feed them bugs. They can survive perfectly well without and in fact are VERY easy to overfeed.

They are very sensitive to temperature, light, and humidity changes. Follow the instructions closely.

No, they're actually very independent. As long as you keep them moist and not in direct sunlight, you're fine. It's fun to put things in their "mouth" and watch them snap down on it.
