I used to pick onions out of everything. Now, I can't get enough of them; they lend such a depth of flavor to things. I also was the same way with spinach; but I love it now. I keep trying mushrooms, hoping it will happen with them, but they continue to make me gag. Anyone have similar experiences? Discuss!

Yep, many things I love now were foods I hated as a kid. Greek olives, onions, blue cheese are just a few examples for me. I read recently that part of the reason why some people like stronger flavors are because they actually have fewer tastebuds as they age, thus the reason why children often don't like the strongly spiced or flavored foods that many adults love! Makes sense to me!

I, too, hated spinach, because my mom used to overcook it and it was gross. I LOVE it now.

However, I didn't like steak then and I still haven't developed a taste for it. Same things with olives and green peppers. I'll eat any other color of peppers, but the green ones gross me out!

I hated eggs as a kid, thought they were creepy but now I have them all the time. Same thing with eggplant. I do love mushrooms though.
