So many quote the Bible as the be all-end all. However, it was written by man. The Bible itself even states this in II Timothy 3:16..."all scripture is given by inspiration of God"
The Bible is the inspired word of God....However, it was written by man, who brought into their writings their own ideas, knowledge/education, prejudices and customs of the day.
However, it seems that many worship the Bible more than they worship God. They point to man's words in the Bible and hold that as their God....is this not idolatry?
Where is ones personal relationship with God?

Have you read Leviticus...Do you really think God wants you to shed so much blood for all of the misdeeds given there....
Do you really think God does not want people to wear a cloth of more than one fiber?
Do you really think that God does not want women to enter the church during their menstrual period?
Do you really think God does not want women to speak in church?
These are all things listed in the Bible...I don't believe these to be God's words....do you?

Awesome question, although the Bible is a great tool, reading it in and of itself does not mean you have a deep personal relationship with God. Sometimes it is just as effective to sit in solitude, silent and talk to God from the heart and listen.

I use God's words, which were written, by man, under the inspiration of God. They are in the Bible. My quoting the Bible in no way means I worship the book. I worship the Lord.

It is strange how you say the bible is man's word, & then turn around & quote the bible in 2nd. Timothy 3:16 That ALL scriptures are given by Inspiration of the Holy Ghost, which one is it, man word's or Word's that is written as the Holy Ghost led man to write, If the Holy Ghost led them then it is God's word.

I wished people would stop quoting Old Testement like that is what God wants us to do. We are UNDER the NEW COVENANT, which is the New Testement. What I mean by quoting the Old I am talking about what you just did. The bible is the Inspired Word of God which means God told those men what to write. I do not worship my bible, but I believe in God's word.

As you just pointed out, it is inspired by God. True, men penned it, but all of it is inspired or God-breathed. We don't make an idol out of the Bible, but we DO take it as God's very word to us.

The bible itself is not a sacred book.....if it were it would be in a special place protected as the tablets in Moses day.
The scriptures are from our Holy God. Each of us are to read in it day and night in an undertone. Each are to apply it in their lives.
But no one I know bows down to the bible.

You achieve a personal relationship with God by reading the Bible, and praying. I use it as a guide to achieving that and living my life.

those men who wrote the bible were inspired by the holy spirit , by GOD and they didn't write what they thought or believed ,they wrote as the holy spirit told them , the bible is the word of GOD and it is profitable for doctrine ,to reproof,for correction ,for instruction in righteousness

Have we ever demanded anyone "to wear gloves" to handle the bible??? Keep researching, we are not the ones who "idolize" our scriptures.
