I am also interested in this topic. How can they believe that in a few thousands years, we're seen two felines become cats, tigers, lions, etc...yet in a few million years, they expect no differences to occur...
To me, it sounds like saying "I believe in days but not years."

Evolution has more holes in it than the Creation story.
(you have to have a lot of Faith to believe in Evolution)
Mutation is not evolution.
The fastest reproducing (non-bacteria related) animal is the fruit fly producing 10,000 of generations in a short time. They never turn (or evolve) into anything other than a fruit fly. However, they can and DO change (or mutate) depending on their surroundings.
Some animals have the most complex systems that there is no way they could have existed through an evolutionary process - Darwin himself set the standard when he acknowledged, "If it could be demonstrated that any complex organ existed which could not possibly have been formed by numerous, successive, slight modifications, my theory would absolutely break down."
If you want a pretty good (and intelligent) debate on Evolution vs Creation see the link below.
I am a follower of Christ and have stopped believing in Evolution the moment I was touched by the Lord. It was not through any church teaching (or brainwashing) at all.

The problem is the concept of the evolution. As taught it is mindless, unguided, and random.
What we see around us speaks volumes about guidance, intelligent design, and no randomness at all.
Thus when Christians, who believe in God, know that angels are all around us in our world invisibly so then why shouldn't these powerful, and supremely intelligent beings be God's stewards of what you call evolution.
In other words, using your own arguments, all these animals, could easily have been 'extrapolated' / brought forth from the gene-pool Noah brought with him.
There is so much unknown about the deluge, the animals, etc, that all there is is speculation.
If you want to see some of my speculation on this subject, look here:

Evolution is not science. It is just a funny theory.
How can you explain thousands of fruits & vegetables come out from simple soil. Everything has a reason and I do not deny how things occur. But basically evolution is not science I dont believe in it .
It is just like defending this idea;
Some simple timber became various kinds of chairs ,desks,,tables ,,furniture BY ITSELF, BY LOONG TIME . The Carpenter or The Craftsman is just a myth
Simply that is what evolution is trying to deny the Carpenter.
How can some people go after that funny idea,, I cant believe it

The current excuse is that Noah brought on two canines, and they produced wolves, foxes, etc, in a few thousand years. But they stayed in their 'kinds' so that's alright, and macroevolution therefore didn't occur, and evolution is disproven.
Oh yeah, and they all floated to their respective continents on logs.
No, I don't know how anyone can believe this either.

The species that he brought did reproduce, and we have what we have today because of this. But cats didn't evolve into dogs, etc.. The problem I have with evolution is that the Bible says God created, not we evolved. The different species are here because God created them in the first place.

Hey, look it's all in the first few books of Genesis, creation, enough said about that.
Yes, I do believe that animals can adapt and grow certain features. But I will not accept the fact that an amoeba decided to do its own thing and eventually turned into a monkey and the monkey turned into humans.
Plus, there have been NO EVIDENCE for the theory evolution. No fossils have been found for transitional species that can prove the theory of evolution.
It takes more faith to believe in evolution than to believe in a religion.
How can you look at a baby, look at your pet, or look in a mirror and just say it just happened randomly?

Some believe evolution conflicts with Genesis, which says that everything that is now, was created that exact way, and that no evolution has ever occurred.
So Noah brought every species of animal that still exist.
Which makes it so hard to understand.

Christians believe the bible contains everything they need to know about everything.
The fact that it is a dusty collection of bronze age myths, only written down after many centuries of oral tradition, with not a shred of evidence to support any of it, is quite besides the point.

The short answer is that they've been told not to "believe" in evolution.
In fact, they've been trained to dismiss it out-of-hand. They don't even bother to acquaint themselves with the most basic facts of the case. How many times has a "Christian" on this board asked "If we came from monkeys why are there still monkeys?" And it's simply no use trying to enlighten them. They refuse to get it, because they're convinced that it's "wrong" to go down that road, even though it's where practically ALL the evidence leads.
Primoa, as always, can be relied upon to give us the crack-cocaine crystalization of this attitude: "Because evolution is an excuse to deny the Creator."
Having said that, it certainly IS true that evolution is incompatible with orthodox Christian theology. If human beings evolved, then the "Adam and Eve" legend is just that - a legend. Therefore there is no "Original Sin," and therefore the entire mechanics of vicarious Atonement through the sacrifice of Jesus is rendered unnecessary. But most "religious" people have not thought the matter through thus far. They simply believe as they're told to believe.

Evolution is not a religious doctrine that must be believed but a scientific hypothesis which is subject to falsification. The fact and the faith is two different things.
