Jesus is the sinless Messiah....No other prophet is refered to as the Messiah..So why do so many Muslims believe in the Gospel of Barnabas that teaches contrary to the Qu'ran?
The Gospel fo Barnabas says Jesus is the Christ which means Messiah....then says Jesus is not the Messiah but Muhammad is...the Qu'ran teaches Chrsit is "The Messiah"

WWW with all do respect...Christians do not give partners to God but understand the meaning of the trinity is ONE God. man is also more than one part but we do not call ourselves more than one man. We are made int he image of God being more than flesh but also with and eternal spirit...We too are more than one part but are ONE living soul. Muhammad did misinterpret the meaning of the trinity to mean more than one God.

Aleesha you referd to Jesus as the Christ...This is my point...Mulims accept that Jesus is the Messiah..The Gospel of Barnabas is not in agrement with the Qu'ran, It is indeed a fraud that many Muslims refer to as if it were legitimate scripture.

Jenn the Qu'ran refers to Jesus as both Chrsit and Messiah they are the same....perhaps you might want to read this again..
72. They do blaspheme who say: "(Allah) is Christ the son of Mary." But said Christ: "O Children of Israel! worship Allah, my Lord and your Lord." Whoever joins other gods with Allah,- Allah will forbid him the garden, and the Fire will be his abode. There will for the wrong-doers be no one to help.

Jenn almost all Muslims will agree The Qu'an says Jesus is the Messiah please ask your Imram or someone with some knowledge...It is thorughout the Qu'ran
The idea that God's word can only be for tose who understand Arabic is absured....This if nothing else would make me proud to be a Christian MY God does make his word known to all people in all languages. It is absurd to think that the creator of everything is incapable of this!!

Hormoth Jesus was not refered to as a Christ but "The Christ". Not a Messiah but "The Messiah"... Many may have well been anointed but only one who is "The Christ" and "The Messiah" there is no argument. The Qu'ran even agrees.

Thanks Sternchen I definitely agree. The fact remains the Qu'ran teaches Jesus is sinless, He is the Messiah and he is the Christ. Why so many argue agianst their own Qu'ran I find interesting...they apparently are making a comparison that many Jews and Christians made years before Muhammad..the thought of what it means to be Messiah and Christ.. Now if they would seek the true meaning of the Messiah as he was prophesied. My point to this question was to show the flaws with the fraudulent Gospel of Barnabas..but perhaps we have hit on something even bigger.

hormoth these scriptures are translated to show the meaning as I said there may be many anointed beings...But Jesus is not refered to as one of many...The translation is correct in that he was refered to as THE Chrsit not a Christ...The Messisah not A Messiah...It truely changes the meaning don't you think? the bbile aslo calls men Son's of God...But when refering to Jeus it is THE Son of God...THe only begotten...See the difference?

Jesus is the Messiah, here is the verse:
When the angels said, 'O Mary, Allah gives thee glad tidings of a son through a Word from Him; his name shall be the Messiah, Jesus, son of Mary, honoured in this world and in the next, and of those who are granted nearness to God;

The Messiah was the one sole saviour that the Jews awaited for 1000s of years. Jews do not call Jesus the Messiah because, like Muslims, they believe he was 'just a prophet'. The Messiah is completely different to a prophet. Why does Allah refer to Jesus as the Messiah, when he was just a prophet? Obviously there is some misconception about the term The Messiah.
Muhammad used the term Messiah after hearing it from Christians. Being uneducated and not a man of the world, he reiterated the same things he had heard without knowledge of semantics. Unknowingly he was calling Jesus "the Christ", the risen one, yet he rejected this very same concept.

In Islam there is no concept of Messiah as the way it exists in Christianity. The word 'messiah' is used by Christians to mean a 'an ultimate saviour' when all of Gods prophets were saviours in their own right: because they sought to teach their tribes of the goodness of faith and remove them from the acts that God disliked.
Jesus is not referred to as THE Messiah in the Quran. Such a concept does not exist in Islam.
Thus Islam doesnt even say Prophet Muhammad is THE messiah.
You know very little of Islam. Read and learn rather than being stuffed by tales heard.
The entire fate of mankind was never put on the shoulders of a single man in Islam. Thus Islam is individualistic and everyone will be judged according to their own actions.
Edit: the Quran never says Jesus is THE messiah as in THE saviour. Those are two different things.

The Quran never refers to Jesus(pbuh) as Christ and Jenn said this to you but you refuse to listen. I think your so ignorant and you want to try and twist peoples words. Jesus(pbuh) was a messiah does not say he is THE Messiah. He is not Jesus in the Quran his name is Issa(pbuh) and he is the son of maryam. He is not the child or son of Allah(swt). Before you attack people and me saying we have no Knowledge you should look at yourself. You should think, that is if you can, that if the Quran said Jesus was Christ there would be no difference between Islam and Christianity. However, there is a BIG difference between Islam and christianity. Islam is the perfected religion and christianity has been changed million of times. Muslims have the same Quran that has never changed and the same Hadith which have never changed.

What's the Gospel of Barnabas?
Anyway,in the holy Qur'an Jesus is refered to as "Al maseeh",so if the translation of that word is "Messiah",then yes the Qur'an teaches that Jesus is "The Messiah".But The Prophet Muhammed(ppbuh) is not refered to anywhere in the Qur'an as "The Messiah" and therefore he's not. :)

It is funny that most people do not even know what Messiah means in Arabic or Hebrew. It does not mean Christ. However, it can be annointed one, or someone who leads shows the way. Usually Messiah's held high positions in the community.
chapter 5 verse 72 even says anyone who says that jesus the messiah is christ is a disbeliever.
Prehaps you need to learn Arabic. The Quran says that those who are lost and hypocrits will say that Jesus is Christ. The Quran never refers to Jesus as christ nor do any Muslims. Before you tell anyone they need to read and learn you should think that your reading a translated copy of the Quran and not the actual Quran itself. The only true meaning of The Quran is in Arabic.
I did not say that jesus was not a messiah. I am saying that Jesus is not christ and there is only one god and he is Allah(swt). Maybe you should read more.

Muslims believe that Jesus is alive in Heaven, and will return to Earth to defeat the Antichrist.
A hadith in Abu Dawud (Sunnan Abu Dawud 37:4310) says:
"Narrated Abu Hurayrah: The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: There is no prophet between me and him, that is, Jesus (peace be upon him). He will descend (to the earth). When you see him, recognise him: a man of medium height, reddish fair, wearing two light yellow garments, looking as if drops were falling down from his head though it will not be wet. He will fight for the cause of Islam. He will break the cross, kill swine, and abolish jizyah. God will perish all religions except Islam. He will destroy the Antichrist and will live on the earth for forty years and then he will die. The Muslims will pray behind him."

How can you bring a proof from a book that none of your own Christan scholars don't accept, thats why its not part of the Bible!
