I am sure we all notice repeat questions here and sometimes they can get pretty annoying. or some are so crazy that you can't even believe someone would ask em. So which types of questions annoy you the most?

The 'why can't you see god loves you' types.

They unknowingly make the assumption that all atheists are morons, and haven't spent time thinking about religion.

After a while, one learns to cruise by and ignore the most blatantly ignorant questions and recognize the avatars of those who post them ...

... and the drinking game is kind of fun, in its own way ...

... so the most annoying question of those that remain would be the obviously biased "questions" which receive accurate and informative answers, and yet the "best answer" is one which merely agrees with the questioner's bias. I call these the "looking for an amen" questions, and they are posted by people of almost every belief (or lack thereof).

Well, first there's the drinking questions. It annoys me that people would just put something like that out there without giving it an ounce of thought (or checking to see if it has already been asked, for that matter).

Then there are the awful blanket statements people make about a group such as:
Why are all atheists evil baby-eating fossil-planting scum of the earth?
Why are all Muslims crazy suicidal extremists?
Why do all Pagans worship the devil and cook with newt's eye?
Why are all Christians braindead lemmings incapable of thinking for themselves?

Questions that begin with "All". Rarely will there be a group where ALL the members act in exactly the same way. I can almost disregard questions beginning with "All" immediately, since the person has such a closed, ignorant mind as to assume that an entire group acts the same.

Examples: ALL atheists, ALL christians, ALL pagans, etc.

The questions that annoy me the most are the one's addressed to a specific special interest group -- "Christians ONLY" or "Atheists ONLY."

This is a public access Internet forum -- everybody has a perfect right to be here. Furthermore, everybody has the right to express their own opinion. In practical terms, Freedom of Speech means that those who disagree with you have the right to express their disagreement. It is highly unethical to attempt to restrict access to your question because you don't want to hear from those who disagree.

For those who can't stomach the reality of democracy in action, I suggest a change of venue. Intolerant Christians would probably feel more comfortable at a "Christians Only" website, of which there are thousands. Intolerant Atheists would do better at websites that cater to their values.

In practical terms, Freedom of Speech literally means that those who disagree with you have a perfect right to express their disagreement. Many people imagine that if we could only communicate more effectively we could somehow find a compromise consensus we all can agree upon. Nothing could be further from the truth. We will always disagree because each of us is always entitled to our own opinion. Many people take great comfort in belonging to a group whose membership has been carefully screened to exclude those who hold opposing views -- for example, churches and Bible study groups, or similarly, particular scientific disciplines and related professional groups. There is little disagreement when everyone has been selected for compliance to group doctrine.

Answers R&S forum is NOT such a place. Every possible divergent view is welcome here. R&S is the rough and tumble reality of democracy in action. Unfortunately, those with little appreciation for the rights of others often resort to unethical practices, such as attempting to limit who may respond to their question or, even worse, by abusing the abuse flag and using it to censor opposing opinion. That's what annoys me the most.

It"s not so much annoying, but everyone has a right to his or her own opinion. I was taught "If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all." I don't always follow this rule, but I really do try. Some questions that are asked are totally way out there, but hey, someone has to ask.

I generally just pass up the questions I don't care to answer... it isn't a difficult decision to make, so most questions don't bother me. But sometimes I get involved in answering a question that I thought would be kool and it turns out to be far to simple. That's annoying..!

Come to think of it... this is a rather annoying question, isn't it? What catagory would you say it falls into?

The ones that, no matter how you try to phrase them, have well in excess of 50 previously asked entries in the 'Ask a question' form.

I mean, I can understand a new wording of a common question that ends up not making any links come up... truly, I can.

But when every possible wording proves itself a repeat... that's sad.

Any question that assumes everyone's perspective is or should be the same as the questioner's. Things like "how can Christians believe in a god?" Or "how can atheists NOT believe in a god?" boooooring. Debating finer points is good, but these broad generalizations that everyone should think like you do and if they don't they are going to hell,or that you can somehow change their minds... is just childish.

Pretty much all of the drinking game questions (hence the drinking game)...

Why do atheists come to the R&S Section?
If man came from monkeys, why are there still monkeys?
Is atheism a religion?
Are catholics polytheists?
Why do Catholics worship false idols?
Any question regarding Pascal's Wager
Can you prove that God does/doesn't exist?
Could God create a rock so heavy that even He couldn't lift it? (or subsitute rock for burrito, heavy for hot, and lift to eat.)

The ones that aren't really asking a question, but are just telling their opinion. Like when poeple ask questions along the lines of " Why can't everyone just see that I'm right?" with their opinions thrown in there.
