I have not used Yahoo messenger for some time, today I started it and found an offline message of a rather nasty nature sent over a month ago by someone who didn't like the response they got over a comment in a singles and dating question. When I went to this persons profile in answers, I found that they didn't allow email or IM and they have marked their Q&A as private.
Is it just me or is this a bit guttless. If people want to get nasty why hide from the world so that others can't respond

I have been guilty of being overly defensive myself, but have since learnt that you have to take the good with the bad

You get people like that.
I had one not long ago, I won't go into detail, but, I don't know how, they had me stripped of my hard earned top contributor badge, they are nasty and disrespecting. they think they know it all but they don't and they can't take a bit of open critticism, just do what i do and use the block feature so they can't access your network or profile, and don't forget, if they get really abusive you can alway report them.

Yeah I agree, if you're going to start an argument with someone you shouldn't just run off and not allow the other person to respond. As for getting defensive when people don't like the answer, well I have seen some really crap and insulting answers posted to questions in this forum, but I think if you do get an answer like that just report the person for abuse.

Yep. That is gutless.
A lot of people here are very defensive. I think most of them overreact. I admit that I don't allow people to contact me, but that said, I also don't get upset when people disagree. I make my argument, and move on. In the end, I don't care if people agree or not. We're all different. No reason to get nasty about it. So I don't blame you. I'd be pretty ticked off if someone did that to me, too!

Some people just can't handle the criticism from others. They like to dish it out, but not receive it. Were are all here for simple entertainment purposes anyway. I wouldn't take too much of what is said here to heart. I mean, do you really know who you are talking to? I least post my photo and some information about me. I have nothing to hide and really don't care what others think about me or what I say.
So I say, bring it on people!

Oh so the people went defective on you to man I just hate it when they do that. If they want to take the chance in the first place that there will be a answer they don't like and then then they get it that is there problem not anyone else so they should just take it easy.

For one, no one can see my ID for YIM because its hidden.
But you also have to look at how people would rather hear what they want to hear instead of need to hear...
