Amazing sight seeing it in Sydney Harbour, I saw the USS Missouri out here years ago before it was decomissioned and docked at Pearl Harbour. This seemed equally huge and impressive ! I had a few beers with a few mates of mine and some of the US Sailors here over the weekend, they suprisingly were really cool ! Welcome here anytime in my Opinion.

I know the US are often involved in training exercises with Australia, how often does this occur ? and are we not the eyes and ears of America in the South Pacific ? I actually beleive we should control or take FULL responsibility for our part of the world, including South East Asia ! What do you think ?

Wow read the article about the protest in India, the US guys said they often get a very different reaction around the world, why not just tell them get with the programme, better still they have to want to get with the programme. Eliminate foreign Aid to India or something !

Australians train yearly with the Marine Corps..as far as policing the south pacific...it would take years to get Australia's Military to that level, they are good now, but to protect a region requires a whole lot of power..Perhaps the USS KITTY HAWK is going to Hawaii, they deserve whatever rest they give them..

I was in the navy in the early 60's. The Kitty Hawk was in service then. my ship, the CORAL SEA worked with her a few times. She was a CVA then but was dropped back to a CV when the Nukes came out. I'm surprised the old bucket's still in service.I don't know what super carrier would replace her. Lincoln, stinson,Reagan or Truman. Go Navel Aviation. OLD A.O. U.S.S. Coral Maru, 60-63

Hey, it's the Thunda from Down Unda! I agree, I think Australia should exercise regional control over the South Pacific. That's why you are buying the new Wedgetail command and control aircraft (if Boeing ever gets off their ass and finishes it).
