Shouldn't we love homosexuals the same?

Jesus gave His life for us and our sins are washed away. Jesus forgave us & forgot our sins. Our slate is wiped clean.

Sally, When you get on the foundation by the baptism of repentance, yes, your sins are totally washed away & tossed into the see of forgetfulness. This is the foundational confession when the old man dies, sins are washed away by His redeeming blood, and the new man, spiritually born in Christ Jesus, alive forevermore.

redflag, Jerry Falwel loved homosexuals, knowing they were sinners lost in their sin. I don't understand what Jimmy Swagart said, If a Christian murdered a homosexual, well? Christians can't murder sinners. Jesus came to save the lost. So? Only a hypocrite could murder & then to lie to the Holy Ghost of that would be blasphemy of the Holy Spirit.

needhelp, There are lots of Churches inviting homosexuals to their services. They love them as much as anyone who needs Jesus. My Church does. http://www.riveroflifefellowship.org . They don't say that adulteries & fornications is OK, but that Jesus saves us from our sins.

Yes and any true Christian would also but sadly there are many who claim to follow Christ yet ignore his teaching on love and forgiveness and are hypocrites who spread hate. We are all sinners who fall short but are forgiven because of Christ and given the gift of grace. The sacrifice was for all not just heterosexuals it is frustrating to hear how some churches are obsessed with homosexuality when all sin is equal in Gods eyes. It is the practice of homosexual intercourse as well as heterosexual practice outside marriage which is forbidden not loving one and other.

While our slate was wiped clean, it is with the condition that we are to try and live a faultless life like Jesus. While we still sin even when we are Christians, we are supposed to go the throne of Jesus and ask for forgiveness for those sins. If we are to live in sin, as with homosexuality, not repenting and turning from our ways, then we are rejecting God and His command to be Holy. Have you ever heard the expression 'love the sinner, hate the sin'? That is what we are supposed to do, just because they are living in sin does not give us reason to hate them, we are supposed to love them as Christ loved them, but we are not supposed to approve of and ignore the sinful life they have chosen.

This is what I tell everyone when they ask me if I love homosexuals, I care about them just as I care about everyone else in the world and people who are connected to me. I have come to a point where I just treat people as people , not making the homosexual , hetrosexual distinction. I am a christian and the reason I love GOD is because he loves me regardless of my sins and my fallings and failings. who am I to judge someone else.we are all sinners so we are all in the same boat.we all Live on GOD's mercy. No sin is greater than the other , it is all sin.So how can a sinner like me tell another person that they are a worse sinner than I am.It's the whole seeing the speck in someone's eye when you do not see the log that's in your eye.so to answer your question, being a homo or a hetro does not matter to me , I love every one the same.

I don't think Reverend Jerry Falwell would have agreed with you:

"[homosexuals are] brute beasts...part of a vile and satanic system [that] will be utterly annihilated, and there will be a celebration in heaven." Jerry Falwell: Quoted in Jim Hill and Rand Cheadle, "The Bible Tells Me So", Anchor Books (1996), Pages 69-70

And let's not forget Reverend Jimmy Swaggart saying he would kill a gay man and then lie to God, saying that the man died. If these leaders don't exhibit this so-called love, then I doubt that their followers will believe differently.

I have nothing against homosexuals. I know so many in my day to day life, and I love them to death. They're sweet people, who are sometimes more fun to be around than my straight friends. I am Christian, and I do love them, and respect their decisions. As Christians, aren't we suppose to love our neighbor despite their ways - sin or no sin. If you're hating on homosexuals, that is such a sin. We have no right to judge anyone. That will be up to God in the end. Everyone sins every single day, and God forgive them. Why are people so closed minded to think God doesn't forgive homosexuals as well for their ways. They're people, and they have feelings, too... so I think we need to get off their case. Love is love, it doesn't matter your gender.

Yes, you love the sinner but not the sin. Homosexuality is an abomination against God.

Yes we are to love them, but not accept what they do. That goes with any sin too. There sin should bother us and make us pray for anyone who is lost. Plus anyone who is saved and we know they are in sin we should pray. Those who are lost we are to seperate our selves from them. What I mean by this we are not to buddy up with them and go hang with them. The bible says Come out from among them and be ye seperate saith the Lord. I am not saying dont be friendly.

This question can also be asked if Christians love and respect any person that has sinned. A sin is a sin is a sin-period. It is not the person. And I wish people in general would someday understand this~

Love the person and their soul but disagree with what they do in their actions. God loves us all, even those society deems as unlovable or unworthy of love. God is not a respecter of persons. Live and let live....life is too short to cause harm to anyone. If you cannot lift someone up, then please do not push them down. Only God can judge because we do not have his wisdom or degree of love in our hearts. We see things as mankind. He views things as a Creator of the Universe. We are not qualified to judge as he would. Do no harm because the sin you do in harming in the name of God often is far worse than what the person is doing. Case in point,.....recently a 17 year old girl in Iraq was stoned for loving a boy of a different religion. When the final judgement comes, who do you think God is going to be more harsh on...her or her tormenters?
