Yes, it is completely silly. I think a lot of it is that there is a political contention between many in both of the larger groups.
They score points off each other like children in a dodge-ball game, but with less grace, wit, or sense of fair play. I will read the poorest bit of reasoning, by ether side, supported and praised by it's adherents. It doesn't matter if it's a good idea, as long as it insults "the other side".
I think I've slung enough mud. This question, and something Lau Pu said yesterday have made me think it's time to play nice again.
Thanks

maximum persons atheists have already been in the process the extra suitable risk-free then sorry interest. So have many believers. i think of Pascal's bit is shallow and egocentric and to that end valueless. We already theory approximately what happens if we are incorrect. So have many believers. If i'm incorrect, i'm a hopeless fool attempting to stay a solid existence and share that with others. i'm able to stay with that. We already went in the process the religion crap. So have many believers. i've got had faith, misplaced it, stumbled on it, and if I do my common ultimate, i'm hoping to lose it lower back, just to discover it lower back... etc, etc... something much less could be apathy, and to that end dishonesty, for me for my section. We already theory approximately heaven, Jesus loss of life for our sins. So have many believers. For me, whilst the two a sort of comprise spectacular techniques, they're a techniques from the only contributers to my faith. It is going a techniques previous an everlasting wish and a guilt holiday from God. the adaptation is, WE caught THE BULLSHIT, CHRISTIANS did no longer. the adaptation is likewise that many believers took the time to hunt for out the actuality at the back of the meant bs. this is no longer as though we are oblivious to it (honestly some are, yet there are Athiests obtainable who're oblivious to the failings of their theory equipment besides). Who has the top hand? imo, it is thoroughly person and something merely one with pureness, holiness, and righteousness ought to choose properly. Are you qualified? i comprehend i'm no longer.

People blatantly blast the Islam quite a bit. And the Wiccans and Pagans get their fair share of ignorant attacks, too.
But both groups instigate far less than the Christians and atheists on this board, so that's why they're left alone more often.

I've never been cursed at by a Wiccan, Pagan, or Muslim. I have (repeatedly) by christians. While I don't like to think I am mean to anyone, I probably sound as if I am. I don't try to be, but when christianity starts invading space that should be secular, I will push back. Wiccans, Pagans, and Muslims have not pushed their dogmas into the public arena, so I have no reason to push at them. Christians have tried to push their dogma on me.
People can believe what they want to, just leave me out of it! That's all I ask.

In my opinion Islam is the worst, since I'm an American and feel threatened by it's extremeist followers. And Christianity has sunk it's nasty teeth into our government and laws and prompts our presidents and ex-presidents to say very insulting things about us, which we naturally take offense to. Wiccans and Pagans and Satanists are actually more like our allies because even though they also believe in things that we don't, they don't bother anyone or tell them they're going to hell, or pass laws that adversely affect the freedoms we're supposed to have as Americans. We have no problem with your imaginary god or theirs, just don't force him on us and look down on us because we don't believe in fairytales written centuries ago as facts. I hope you understand now.

Christians and Atheists are the polar opposites and with Christianity being the most mainstream religion, it makes sense that these two opposing beliefs (being the majorities) receive the most attention. Also remember that since Christianity is the most mainstream, this is the religion people know the most about. Most don't know much about Pagan or Islamic religions so it is hard to argue them. That is not to say that Pagan and Islamic religions are ignored. Stick around long enough and you'll see that they do get their fair share as well.

You're quite correct. Religious superstition is not confined to any one group of radicals. Religious superstition is simply that. I think a great deal of emphasis is placed on Islam and Christianity for they seem the most violent and contain the more extreme and vociferous factions. The reason there is so much effort against Atheists is because Atheists take on the whole gang. Most of us have examined the amount of misery that religion has brought to humanity in the way of violence and terrorism through the ages and so we tend to be opinionated toward all of them.

Just because I don't address them as often doesn't mean that I accept their views. It's a numbers game. The party with the most adherents gets the most attention. Trust me, if the majority believed in Zeus, then Zeus would have the most opposition. Atheists are equal opportunity atheists. All religions with gods are subject to direct scrutiny when their adherents attempt to legislate their beliefs into laws.

I am an atheist and I point out where I disagree with the beliefs of not only Christians but also Muslims when it is appropriate. For instance, when they say Islam is only about peace I do ask about the passages in their texts that seem to promote violence. I also rebuff attempts to recruit. As for Pagans, I have no problem with other people believing what they want only with them trying to coerce everyone else to believe what they do and trying to restrict other's choice to conform to their beliefs. Pagans are content with their beliefs and not pushing them out there. They have no evangelizing tendency that I have seen. They are content to live their lives according to their own beliefs without requiring eveyone else do so as well.

Rather than constantly blasting and taking shots at each other for our differences, why not just practice a little tolerance, a little kindness, and a little non-judgment and celebrate the things that are beautiful in life.
I was saw a sign held up by a homeless man which admonished readers to "Smile. It doesn't cost a thing AND it makes you feel better."
He was right.
With kindness and compassion to all.
