It's like the moth that is attracted to the light of a lamp. It flutters around it knowing that there is something marvelous and amazing but it just can't figure out what it is. When it gets too close it gets burned up and dies. When an atheist gets too close to believers the light of God's truth burns away the deceptions of the Devil and their fleshly understanding and they die to self and become new in Christ.

I am not drawn toward you. You repulse me. I would feel sorry for you if not for the overall negative affect you have on human society on a whole. You question could easily be mirrored back at you. Why are you drawn to people of stronger moral conviction and courage because they live an ethical life free from fear of punishment and desire for unnatural reward?

Maybe you should ask an atheist.
Oftentimes, atheists are drawn to others who believe in God, especially if they have been atheisits for a long time. They believe one of two things. They can either try to understand how that person' life has been changed with their faith, and they will perhaps try to go with that person (give up atheism) or they may try to stop that person's beliefs, and expose them to science and things that are real that religion tries to take credit for.
Sincerely,

Uh.. yeah... Why is this question any different than any other wide generalization based on limited observation? Do you have statistics to back this up? What are you classifying as "drawn"?
It's this sort of question/thinking that gets people in trouble, it sounds good and true, but a few moments of thought show how tenuous it is.
This was not written as an attempt to criticize, merely trying to educate.

It seems you are asking Christians a question, but the majority of answers are from atheists.
It is interesting that their responses alone, gives you some sort of answer.
The "Why" part of it looks to me like they just enjoy seeing their own writing and thinking they're funny. (as far as "drawn" to answering questions regarding Christians on YA)
Or maybe it's just for the 2 points.

I'm 'drawn' by questions which contain the word 'atheist' in them. Especially those that put it in quotations. That's a sure sign that the asker has no idea what we're actually like and is just going to put forward his/her own agenda and imaginings in its place.
I challenge you to actually listen to us instead.

They hate us because they think we are ignorant.
One of the funniest things was when I saw an atheists post something on these forums. There was a heavy debate going on. I posted some of my beliefs, and the atheist called me crazy. He didn't ask me any questions or convictions. I guess it's because he thought my views on Christianity were incorrect and he would get no joy out of arguing with a Christian with no "real" views, while what I said was entirely backed up by the bible.

You are silly. I tend to avoid those types of people, if anything. I prefer people with a strong grasp of reality. People who believe in magical invisible people just don't seem to have that trait.

They are?? Actually most of those people get on thier nerves. I know my husband avoids them like the plague. If you ever want him to leave you alone, talk about God.

It is a rapid growth industry. Atheism is now everywhere, in all aspects of society. This growth strangely enough, coincided with the growth of free, open, secular, scientific, logic based education. Disgusting thought !
