Our human minds cannot BEGIN to comprehend the love that God has for EACH of us that He'd send His Only Son, Jesus to die on the cross for ALL of our sins!!!! Even the nastiest of people...God LOVES THEM TOO!!!!!!!!!! That's above my thinking possibilities!!! Jesus was the ULTIMATE sacrifice for our sins.

How does that make me feel??? It give me undeniable JOY that NO ONE can ever take away from me!!!!! Happiness depends on our surroundings/situations...but pure JOY is in your heart and can't be touched by anyone. That is what His dying on the cross and showing us He's alive and working in our lives gives me. Joy that cannot be taken away, never, no way, no how!!!!!! It's mine, given to me by Our Creator that loved/loves me so much I can't even begin to realize how much!!!! I love my kids with all my heart....and God can love me WAAYYYYY more than that???!!! That's incredibe to me!!!!! So, joy is what He's given me, along with everlasting life with Him once I die. We serve an AWESOME God!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It makes me feel that either God is nonexistent, or not telling us something, or extraordinary silly.

It was he who defined sin in the first place. He could have fixed that.

It was he who ruled that a human sacrifice was required to atone. He could have fixed that.

He'd slaughtered millions during the Flood, and many other atrocities, so he could have taken any of those deaths as his sacrifice.

Instead he decided, we are told, to sacrifice HIMSELF, to HIMSELF, to appease a sin he'd defined HIMSELF, in a way he'd specified HIMSELF.

What's that about? Sound like an ego trip at best.

It wasn't even a true blood sacrifice: JC was reportedly up and about 3 days later.

What a gyp!

It doesn't really make me feel anything. If God and Jesus are one and the same then to me the sacrifice is meaningless because he was still going to go to heaven and so I mean it's not like anything was really lost.

As for why he allowed himself to be sacrificed I think it was to show the world that you should always go forward with your beliefs and not even be set back by death.

He sent His Son Jesus to die for our sins so that we would no longer have to live under the sacrificial laws of The Old Testament. We need only accept Jesus and follow the commandment to Treat Others as we would want to be treated.

He did it because He loves us.
It makes me feel free. I not longer have to worry about sacrificng a goat or lamb or whatver if I sin. God took care of it all.

All I have to do is accept Jesus. Because I love Him, I do my best to live like He did.

God can't change. All that he ever said to us is still valid. He said that the price for sinning is death and because God so loved the world he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
The price is paid and all we have to do is believe.

And it makes me feel loved.

It never happened, so it doesn't concern me in the least. As there are no gods the story made up about a leader of the opposition to Roman rule in Palestine who was so insignificant that he is mentioned in not one of over 100 contemporary Roman historians' writings is inconsequential.

This is utter nonsense and mind boggling. Why God worh his name and Grace sacrifice himself. Any way I feel disgusted.

i think its a metaphor. what's the greatest act of humanity? to give your own life to save even your enemy. so the 'sacrifice' He made was the greatest example of His infinite love for us. doesn't it make you feel great knowing that someone you don't even know is willing to do that for you?

Hi Gilbert, this is WEndy with the Ray Boltz nail song, I found something else about Jesus, and thought you'd like to read it : Hebrews 6-13But Jesus' priestly work far surpasses what these other priests do, since he's working from a far better plan. If the first plan—the old covenant—had worked out, a second wouldn't have been needed. But we know the first was found wanting, because God said,

Heads up! The days are coming
when I'll set up a new plan
for dealing with Israel and Judah.
I'll throw out the old plan
I set up with their ancestors
when I led them by the hand out of Egypt.
They didn't keep their part of the bargain,
so I looked away and let it go.
This new plan I'm making with Israel
isn't going to be written on paper,
isn't going to be chiseled in stone;
This time I'm writing out the plan in them,
carving it on the lining of their hearts.
I'll be their God,
they'll be my people.
They won't go to school to learn about me,
or buy a book called God in Five Easy Lessons.
They'll all get to know me firsthand,
the little and the big, the small and the great.
They'll get to know me by being kindly forgiven,
with the slate of their sins forever wiped clean.
By coming up with a new plan, a new covenant between God and his people, God put the old plan on the shelf. And there it stays, gathering dust. 6-13But Jesus' priestly work far surpasses what these other priests do, since he's working from a far better plan.
