The "dead" in Nazorite terms meant any person denying their message, refusing the presented `truth`. If people would only research historically instead of accepting literal translations from biblical sources, this confusion over "raising up the dead" would become crystal clear. Lazarus ,for anyone who has studied the event, was not dead in the physical sense, (he cried out BEFORE Jesus reached him) but was morally/spiritually dead. The available material describing this episode leaves no doubt that `resurrection` was a cultic practise of the Nazorites, lead by Jesus. No miracles, just a mystery school initiation !

There were 3:

Lazarus - found in John 11:1-44

The ruler Jairus' 12 yr. old daughter - found in Matthew 9:19-23, Mark 5:21-43 and Luke 8:40-56

A widow's son at Nain - found in Luke 7:11-17

But most importantly, don't forget that Christ Himself was resurrected (Matthew 28), is alive today and seated at the right hand of God.

Adding on to what Jennifer c has written many saints were raised from the dead when Jesus died on the cross - see Matthew 27:50-53.

A better question would be do ya know how many inocent people he killed when he was a child and didnt understand his abilitys! The bible doesn't tell the whole story just the rosey bits the medieval monks left in. If ya believe in any of it anyway!

trick question. He didn't. God did and merely gave Jesus the power to show others the awesomeness of God.

He resurrected 4-people from dead by order of God:

Once he was passing from the graveyard. He saw a lady weeping for her dead daughter. On seeing her agonies he prayed to God for her life. On third call she came out. He asked why you took more time. She told on first call angel came and adjusted my body, on second call soul was put to my body and on third call I felt that this sound is for doomsday. And because of fear my hair became white. Then she became angry with her mother about her request. And she told her that she should remain patient for heavenly reward and that she had no wish for this world. Then the girl requested Jesus Christ (peace be upon him) that request to the God to give me a peaceful death. Then she died and earth took her inside.

Jesus (peace be upon him) continued his mission, aided by divine miracles. Some Qur'anic commentators said that Jesus (peace be upon him brought four people back from the dead: a friend of his named Lazarus (Al-Azam), an old woman's son, and a woman's only daughter (mentioned above). These three had died during his lifetime. When the Jews saw this they said: "You only resurrect those who have died recently; perhaps they only fainted." They asked him to bring back to life Sam the Ibn Noah. When he asked them to show him his grave, the people accompanied him there. Jesus (peace be upon him) invoked Allah the Exalted to bring him back to life and behold, Sam the Ibn Noah came out from the grave gray-haired. Jesus (peace be upon him) asked: "How did you get gray hair, while there was no aging in your time?" He answered: "O, Spirit of Allah, I thought that the Day of Resurrection had come; from the fear of that day my hair turned gray."
