When I'm cheesed off, in an attempt to cheer myself up, I'll make some comfort food for myself and the family.Shepherd's pie today.I just love the creamy mash, I'd eat that on it's own.I've been to have some dental work today, so it has to be soft food.Dark chocolate is another comfort food for me.What about you guys?

I love shepherd's pie too, complete with creamy, buttery mash.

For something sweet it has to be ice cream for speed, with jelly if there's enough time and inclination.

It must be something to do with mash and ice cream being soft and soothing.

I felt a bit (lot) down last night, made a huge fruit salad, piled on some real dairy double cream and spent the next hour or so savouring every mouthful, ended up curled up in the chair like a contented cat.

I like spicy food with sauce- usually a curry or chinese/thai. Full-on flavour and something easy to chew and eat.

I also like sushi, which is healthier but expensive if I want to eat in comfort quantities!

My favourite sweet comfort food is Waitrose cuppacino cupcakes which are 50% cake, 50% icing give or take! Yum! But sooo sickly.

Lots of people control or attempt to "subdue" their emotions and feelings with food. It is very unhealthy and to a certain extent not 'normal' if it starts to take over your life and alters your eating habits. Behaviors like this could easily lead to some sort of eating disorder or at least a very unhealthy relationship with food. It's all about your sense of control in terms of HOW you cope with the emotions you're experiencing.

Cut the top off a Jamaican ginger cake, scoop out the inside and mix the crumbs with melted chocolates of your choice. Put the top back on, wrap in tinfoil and bake for 10 - 15 mins in a fairly hot oven. Cut into slices and serve with either double cream or hot thick custard.

My grandma's baked spaghetti! We had it every Christmas Eve when I was a kid, and now I make it when I feel in need of some good comforting food.

When it is the T O T M I like to have a big bar of Mint Aero it makes me feel better. Yes Shephers Pie is yummy when feeling down. Dark chocolate is more of a treat for me, Black Magic are the best, and Dark Toblerone mmmmmmmmm.

It seems weird, but if I get a bit moody, I had something with eggs. Like boiled, or an omelette.I think it's because hubby loathes them and I will give off the foulest wind possible, which brings a smile to my face. But you cannot beat CHOCOLATE!!!! Sorry to hear about your sore mouth, hope it gets better soon!

Peanut butter and jelly, or marshmallow fluff. Throw in a handful of bbq fritos and a glass of whole milk and I'm back in my cozy childhood, free from all worries.
