Address Him as "Heavenly Father" or "Father in Heaven." He is a Holy Man in whose image we were created, a perfected Man of flesh and bone, just as His Beloved Son is.

He is Man in every sense of the word.

christ gave us the lord's prayer. use it. don't stop there. god the father is the source of all love. some people go to god only to ask. good but we need to remember that "no" is an answer. we do not always ask for that which is good. remember that all you have....life , love, possessions, faith, etc. that are good are of god and he deserves our thanks and love in return. god bless and read the bible. especially the new testament. our problems all have answers and when you LISTEN you will find solutions in the scripture.

I refer to God as the 'Creator' or sometimes the "Heavenly Father" even though since God is not a human and is a Super Being, I dont believe God has a particular sex.

A Muslims prayer is :

"Allah is Great"

Then we praise Lord the All-Mighty in these words:

"Praise and glory be to Allah. Blessed be Your name. Exalted be Your majesty and glory. There is no god but You."

"I seek protection of Allah from the accursed satan."

"In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful."

"All praise is for Allah, the 'Rabb' of the Worlds. The Compassionate, the Merciful. Master of the Day of Judgment. O'Allah! You Alone we worship and You Alone we call on for help. O'Allah! Guide us to The Right Way. The Way of those whom You have favored; not of those who have earned Your wrath, or of those who have lost The Way. Amen"

After this we read some verses from Quran in Arabic.

Then say, "God is Great" and Bow down.

While bowing we praise the Lord thus, "Praise be to my glorious Lord" and it is repeated minimum three times.

Then we get up while saying, "May Allah hear he who praises Him." And again we say, "Our Lord be praised."

Then while saying, "God is Great", we prostrate.

And while prostration we say, "Praise be to my exalted Lord" and repeat it minimum three times.

All above is repeated and then we sit and say, "Greetings, prayers, and the good things of life belong to Allah. The peace, mercy and blessing of Allah be upon you O Prophet. Peace be upon us and the devout slaves of Allah. I bear witness that there is no god but Allah and I bear witness that Mohammad is His slave and messenger."

"Oh Lord, bless Mohammad and his family as you blessed Abraham and his family. You are the most praised, the most wonderful.

"Oh Lord give Your blessing to Mohammad and his family as You gave Your blessing to Abraham and his family. You are the most praised, the most wonderful.

My Rabb (Allah) make me and my children regular in prayers. O my Rabb! Accept my prayer. O my Rab forgive me and my parents and all believers on the day of Judgment"

"May peace and blessing of Allah be upon you." (repeat two time with a little turning of head to left and right)

Dear Father in the Name of Jesus

I'm pretty informal about it. Sometimes it's "Dear father" other times its "Hi, God". I think He just likes to hear from us, and if flowery words aren't my way, then I'm just being honest with Him.

'Dear God'

I don;t think he really wants all the reverence, just as long as it is a prayer full of thankfulness and is full of heart. Words don't matter.
