I am just trying to get some ideas of what other people make for dinner so I can mix up my menu a little. We had dirty rice mix. Please don't tell me what you had from Mcdonalds or anything like that... HOMEMADE!

My daughter is 21 and on her own. She was wanting to make inexpensive meals that were fairly quick to fix. We sat down yesterday and made a meal plan for a week, a shopping list, and an outline of what meals were good freezable ones so she would only cook once on some. Here are some of the meals.
1. Speghetti, Italian Green Beans, side salad, garlic bread
2. Meatloaf, mashed potatoes, corn
3. Pot of beans w/ ham- your choice, Cornbread
4. Tacos w all the fixings, mexican rice (from a box mix)
5. Hamburgers, FF
6. Chicken & Pasta-boil chicken and debone, boil a small box of pasta-your choice, combine pasta, chicken, cream of chicken soup, 1 cup velveeta, bake for 10 minutes
7. Fried chicken, mashed poptatoes, gravy, sweet peas, dinner rolls

These are just simple meals. If you are looking to get really creative try going to following link:

yellow cupcakes with chocolate icing - hey, it was homemade

Sadly, that was serious so let me tell you what I had planned to make instead. Go buy the Kikkoman Teriyaki Baste and Glaze, cook some chicken and white rice. After the chicken is cooked and cut into bite sized chunks pour in the Teriyaki sauce. Let it cook for a few minutes then poor over white rice. Good stuff and very easy.

Porcupine meatballs:
1lb ground beef
1/4 c rice
salt, pepper, garlic

Mix, form into balls, put into a large skillet and top with a can of tomato soup, 1/4 c water, and seasonings (I use garlic, beef boullion, and pepper). Bring to a boil over medium high heat, reduce heat so that the sauce just simmers. Cook for 15 min, turn the meatballs, cook another 10 min. Serve over rice.

Beer in the rear chicken...!

Take a beer and drink about 1/3 of it. Then take a chicken and literally sit on the can of beer so that the beer can is inside the chicken. Some people rub the chicken with spices or a meat rub but we just use the beer.

Put it on the grill and cook it slow for a while.

The meat is very very tender...

Anyone else done this?

Puerto Rican Crab Stew (called Salmorejo in Spanish) with Fried Breadfruit (called Tostones de Panapen in Spanish).

I have recipes for both, click on my profile for the weblink. When you browse the recipes you'll find the crab dish in the main dishes/seafood section and you'll find the breadfruit under appetizers.

Tonight I'll be making a gazpacho pasta salad and grilled chicken breast that has been marinated in taco seasoning.

Last night we just had pizza rolls. The night before I made a tamale pie. Tonight it's going to be Manwiches, or Hamburger Helper. We're doing cheap right now since Saturday will be filet mignons in a cajun cream sauce with mashed potatoes and bacon gravy. I should probably toss a veggie in there.

oh lordy lord...honey, im sorry to tell you this, but I cant cook.
The most I could do is make cereal lol (sad but true)

Anywho, I see alot of food network stuff and i saw these panini sandwiches made that looked DELICIOUS (might i say!) ...and it looks super easy and QUICK to do...i still wont attemp it since I will most likely burn the house down lol.

On the side, you could make some fried rice, it would go along good with it.

And after that..dessert....make a chocolate mouse...kids will love it, easy, quick, fun. You gotta think simple!!

..OH MY GOSH, MY INNER EMERIL IS COMING OUT!! LOL

hope i helped sweetie. Best of luck to you!

I was fortunate to get some fillet steak quite cheaply only because it was nearing it's sell by date.
We had sticky Jasmine rice and some peas with crumbed pan fried fillet steak last night.
The idea I want to bring to you is to make any kind of meat, but especially tenderized steak or similar cuts crumbed for a change...
Have it with your favorite veg and starch....
