The Buddhists certainly must be in the running.
There are Christian groups that also qualify, notably the Amish, the Mennonites, and the Quakers.

In the hands of the peaceful person, all philosophies and all religions are peaceful.
In the hands of the murderers, all roads lead to murder.
Because human kind has the ability to twist things to meet their own agendas.
There are peaceful Christians, Muslims, Jews, Buddhists etc.
And there are not so peaceful ones.
Thus there is no such thing as the most peaceful or the most murderous religion or philosophy.
Religions and philosophies are rules and regulations or teachings we live by. You should read up and find the one that has justice and fairness and equality.
Otherwise, peacefulness is not a good measure to see which one is the best one. Because no religion or philosophy actually advocates murder of the innocent. Because humans are not dumb, such an open advocation of murder would mean people will not follow those teachings.
No religion or philosophy can say war is a bad thing either because war is a necessary component of living. If youre attacked, you need to defend yourself.

I would say Buddhism. But, A Course In Miracles is the best philosophy. The reason I didn't say it as the best religion was because I don't know that can be classified as a religion. However, I do know there are people who meet who basically use the Course philosophy.

there is a lot of ppl may say other things about the Islam as (an example) the terrorism but u can read about it don't trust in the rumors which say things such as the Muslims r who made the 9/11 explosion and u may read the holy Quran with its miracles and u may know that the Islam has came to make the world better when the conflicts have spread in the world from nearly 1400 years and in other way the Islam has ordered the ppl to be kind,be merciful ,say the truth ,make an end for the bad things ,order the others to make the good things ,never to make the terrorism ,honoring the guest ,care the young ,respect the old ,be in patience ,care with the orphans ,never to kill someone in intentionally ,love the other ppl ,never to harm the ppl in our religion or another one and alot of good and kind things that are countless u may read about the Islam if u want to know everything about it but first choose the right book that u can trust in it or u can go to the nearest mosque and ask there about the Islam .

Hindu
There is no procedure like Baptism or Sunnat etc. to be a Hindu. every creature is born as Hindu. The next ritual makes the Hindu Dwij-Brahmin. Without such rituals one can follow HInduism
There is no procedure to transform the people from other religion to Hindu religion, because the Hindu religion is prime one and there was no other religion to get transformed into
No such instant of aggressiveness to other persons is found in the history to follow Hinduism
The other religions has attacked the Hinduism from 9th century and still remain with lots of revolutions and changess according to the environment-ecosystem and influence of other religions
There are branches of Hinduism like Baudhism in China and other countries and this religion is as peaceful as Hinduism
The rituals are as peacful and the Yogas, Mantras and other procedures are giving peace in minds of followers as well as the peoples in touch with the Hinduism
You can follow Hinduism still you were in the other religion

Buddhism seems the most peaceful and seems to make the most sense for I see it more of a philosophy or even a psychological therapeutic method.

None, all religions have been involved at some point in acts of violence. Even proselytizing is an act of violence.
Atheism is eventually the only philosophy that hasn't yet resorted in violence to promote atheism.

Punter is right
The word "Islam" is an Arabic word which means "submission to the will of God "Allah - SWT". This word comes from the same root as the Arabic word "salam", which means "peace". As such, the religion of Islam teaches that in order to achieve true peace of mind and surety of heart, one must submit to Allah (SWT) and live according to His Divinely revealed Law. The most important truth that Allah (SWT) revealed to mankind is that there is nothing divine or worthy of being worshipped except for Almighty Allah (SWT), thus all human beings should submit to Him. The word "Muslim" means one who submits to the will of Allah (SWT), regardless of their race, nationality or ethnic background.
Being a Muslim entails willful submission and active obedience to Allah (SWT), and living in accordance with His message. Some people mistakenly believe that Islam is just a religion for Arabs, but nothing could be further from the truth. Not only are there converts to Islam in every corner of the world, especially in England and America, but by taking a look at the Muslim World from Bosnia to Nigeria, and from Indonesia to Morocco, one can clearly see that Muslims come from many various races, ethnic groups and nationalities. It is also interesting to note that in actuality, more than 80% of all Muslims are not Arabs - there are more Muslims in Indonesia than in the whole Arab World! So though even though it is true that most Arabs are Muslims, the large majority of Muslims are not Arabs. However, anyone who submits completely to Allah (SWT) and worships Him alone is a Muslim.
