First off, never assume. You do not know that you have this particular disorder. So many disorders can be similar and have many of the same symptoms. It is only safe for a doctor to diagnose you with a problem. I realize it's not fun to spend money on doctors and some people do not want to trust doctors. But in reality, it is only a doctor that can diagnose you correctly. Second of all, medicine also is not a bad thing. If there is something hormonally not correct or some form of chemical imbalance, a doctor can prescribe the correct medication to fix the imbalance. Third, obviously whatever problems you are having are enough to have you concerned about it. If that is the case, seek help from a doctor as quickly as you can. Because the sooner you find out what the problem is, the sooner you fix it, and the sooner you get RELIEF. If you get prescribed medication, just realize that it is for your benefit and you will live in a much happier reality than being worried about things. And last but not least...take the scenario that you do get prescribed medication, do EVERY thing your doctor tells you. Do NOT self medicate and stop taking pills just because you FEEL okay, because it takes a long time before the pills will help you, a LONG time, and often enough people feel better after taking them so they stop on their own, and this can have very bad effects. Hope to have helped advise you.

My psychology professor said that most people who think they have OCD really don't. True OCD is so extreme that you have to do certain things a certain way or a certain number of times or you think you'll die or someone you love will die, or something horrible will happen. People with OCD really do not have the ability to control this. For instance, a man has to take his shoes off at the same spot and keep them in the same spot. He literally cannot take his shoes off somewhere else and cannot place them somewhere else. It's not a matter of liking to take them off there and keep them there, he cannot do it anywhere else. My family says I have OCD but I don't. I have a few quirks but I can change and do things differently. If you are able to change your routine without an anxiety attack and you can get through the day then I'd say you don't truly have OCD. I wouldn't worry about it unless it starts ruining your life.

So Captain Alex, what is your particular compulsion? Self diagnosis is a dangerous thing. Give us some more details. In the meantime seek medical assistance.

Many people have this disorder to some extent. If it is mild, then don't worry about it. If it becomes a driving force in your life, then seek professional help.

Yes. The cure is simple. Simply buy a dozen cream pies everyday and shove them in your face. Or , better yet, have a co-worker shove the pies in your face.
