Hi the head unit referred to in the message is your radio.
Safe mode means that the power or earth has been disconnected from the radio.
As a safety precaution to prevent thefts and make the radio useless if stolen every time the radio is disconnected it asks the user to enter a 4-digit security code (just like your pin number with credit cards) to prove you are the legal owner. If the radio was working when you collected your car then either of the following has happened:
Your car battery has gone flat
Some body has disconnected the battery i.e. to fit extra accessories
The radio hasn’t been connected properly
There is a fault in the radio

You should have been given the code when you bought your car (sometimes it will be on a credit card size card in your drivers handbook) if you have the code follow the instructions in your handbook and enter the code. (Unfortunately all radio manufactures use a different sequence of buttons to enter the code so will need to follow the instructions in the book)
If you have entered the code correctly the radio will work
If you don’t have the code for the radio return to the dealer you bought the car from, as they would have had it with a new radio.
If you don’t have a handbook with the audio section ask them to demonstrate the procedure to enter the code and make sure you keep a record of how to enter it and a record of the code safe but not in the car. You may need it if you ever have work done on the car in the future.
If you enter the code and the message appears again then return the car to dealer as the radio is either faulty or incorrectly fitted.

Take it back to the dealer! It obviously has a problem, get them to sort it out! After all, they fitted it , it's still under guarantee for both the work and the product.

Program in stations and user security code and pull out that radio booklet and Vaxual owners manual.
