Morals are internal to the individual, predicated on an understanding of behavioral cause and effect.
Religions are external to the individual, predicated on the belief that there is a higher authority imposing cause and effect rules on behavior.
The end result of the two can be similar, but morals require intellect while religions only require "faith."
Hope that helps.

Moral issues deal with all moral issues, were as religious issues deal solely with religious issues. The two usually are the same or similar, but they also can be unrelated.
One example I can think of at this moment is taxes. A tax, fee, or some other governmental cost may be immoral to you, but in the case of the Judea-Christian tradition, religiously you are to give unto God what is Gods', and render unto Caesar what is Caesar's. In other words you should pay your taxes, even if you don't morally agree with what the money is going for.
Another might be where a religious taboo and a moral issue conflicts. For example, if you were in a country where vegetarianism and non-violence is the way of life and your family is starving. Do you follow the Religious issue side and refrain from killing a living thing and fail to save your family, or do you think it is immoral to let your family die of starvation and harvest an animal to feed your family and save their lives.
I hope this helped in some way, Good Luck!

well, from a personl point of view, moral and religious issues are different, but they relate to each other sometimes,,
moral issues are about the morals that could be considered as natural rules or regulations that automatically exist in every human, for sum ppl they show up, and for others they could be less shown or used, moral issues are human-generated and could be solved by human also, because the problem and its context are man-generated, but religion problems are regarding things that are considered to be from gods, regardless who they are, so in a religion issue man cant be the ultimate desicion maker cuz religion has its own rules and limits that ppl cant just go over n say thats how its done !!, no, ppl follow religions and not use them their way.
so what im saying is, there is a big difference between them, and its not easy to figure, but moral things are easier to get into and solve cuz if u use ur logic and mind, ull get to the solution of that moral issue, but in religion, u might have some big questions that need time and lotta thinking and asking to be answered,
i dont know if i helped, but i found some free minutes during my shift and tried to answer thins ques from a PERSONAL POINT OF VIEW ;-)

Moral issue = something that all people can understand, that does not necessarily involve a religion to denote that it is wrong ex: murder most people regardless of the religious view would consider that immoral.
Religious issue= an issue that is involving people of various religions whether it is inter religion issues, an issue within a church or an issue with society pertaining directly to an issue related to a specific Religion...ex: prayer in schools, in God we Trust etc..
At least that's what I think =)

Religious issues are primarily directed by the religion through its scriptures and the religious heads. But fortunately cardinal principles of all the religions are on the similar lines like love for motherland, tolerance for other religions brotherhood etc.But they do differ in religious practices.
whereas moral issues are ideologies or disciplinary Morales which apart from the religion, our civilization, cultural values of the particular religion etc dictate.Of course again these moral issues generally are uniform even across religions.there may be some outrageous deviations if one goes through tribal culture or through the religious fundamentalist's views. Some of the moral issues are like respect for women, telling truth, doing our duty dutifully, keeping our environment clean, etc.

Morality is about the judgment of good and bad behaviour according to conscience, whereas in religion behaviour is usually judged in an amoral way, according to whether or not it is consistent with the orders of a deity. Obviously, just following orders (or what you perceive to be orders) is nothing to do with morality, and is entirely to do with self-interest.
