is it okay to instal a reverse wire harness to a vechicle that is the same brand but different years?

my car is a 98 kia but im using a 2000 reverse wire harness
a reverse wire harness is the harness that is connected to the car also it only needs to be replaced if it was stolen or u dont want it. mine was stolen

A 2000 Kia should use the same harness as a 98 Kia.

If it fits the plug on the radio, then it should be fine.

I would contact a dealer and see what the part number was for your vehicle and then for the other year vehicles that use the same part number
