You know, oddly enough, my cat disagrees with you. Go figure.
Edit: Seriously, when I read your question, my cat very loudly stated "No", scratched her chin and well, I assume she walked away because she's gone now.....what the h*ll's in my coffee?!
I think I'm going back to bed.....

Considering that God created "EVERYTHING" and Satan can only copy, then I would have to say the the devil isn't nearly as powerful as God.
He does have power to rule the very air we breathe, so it's understandable that he would have a great influence on anyone, anywhere.
Norway & Sweden are not indicative of the good of evil.
The Soviet Union had no use for religion either, we had more athiests there than all of Sweden's and Norway's full population. And then there's China! Do you know how many atheists are floating around there? Now that is a real good example of universal care for one and another isn't it? How about Cuba?
Satan has influence. A vast amount of influence, that's a given. But what he doesn't have is God's powers. He never will. If he did then you can bet he would have won the first war. The one in Gods kingdom. Satan didn't. He lost. So did his followers.
So with that in mind...you have to ask yourself, does the evil of Satan actually overide the power of God, or is his powers let loose only by Gods allowance?

Think about it. You have on this forum, unlearned jerks and fools, answering questions of which they know nothing about. Everyday it's always the same people with the same stupid remarks. They mock the very God is who allowing them to breath. They do it in ignorance, and... They are here because: High unemployment Disability and crazy checks only pay out once a month Never having a close relationship with their father Indoctrinated by MSNBC, CBS, ABC and CNN No new spongebob episodes Mom's out of the house, and they're on the internet again Brain cell imbalance I mean, if your goal in life is to be an upper level question answerer on Y/A, you are pretty pathetic.

Interesting question but completely illogical from many areas of importance. First, a person cannot be truly moral unless they believe in some higher being and follows those moral laws. Yes, they can get along with their fellow man and follow generally accepted rules for behavior but that does not make them moral. The generally accepted rules of behavior would be developed by imperfect and corruptible individuals who are typically out for self-gain. This is in contrast to those who believe in a higher rule of law which can be used as the bed-rock foundation for man-made laws.
Second, how do you judge Norway and Sweden as being "wealthy" nations? How does their form of healthcare (socialist medicine) advance your question? Are you comparing socialist medicine (Norwway and Sweden) and privately controlled healthcare (mostly US) to Satan and God? It is NOT my responsibility to pay for others to get medical care when they sit on their ass and watch T.V. all day.
Satan's influence IS very strong world-wide but that does not say anything about God's power or influence. Free-will allows individuals to choose how they are going to act and whether they will accept God and His Son or not.
Finally, the battle between Satan and God is a spiritual battle which most people cannot comprehend or explain. Satan is out to turn people from God's grace and forgiveness to a world of empty promises and pain. Satan, though is not stupid. He, or his demons, will attack people where it will cause the most damage and turn the most people away from God. He strikes at the family structure, at church leaders, etc. because once people start back-stabbing and gossipping about others who are imperfect the community of believers fall prey to more attacks.

I believe it is more a question of satisfaction than power. People did not understand that believing the lie that the earth was flat was not in their best interests. Thinking we know or believe something that is not true is NEVER in our best interests. Agree or disagree? Once we have been liberated from delusion we can clearly see the benefits of knowing the truth. Is it not possible that there could be a lot more for us in this life than relative comfort and safety? If people never left their comfort zones and sacrificed for a cause greater than themselves where would we be? Why would any rational objective person ever sacrifice their life for another? Why would any rational objective person ever commit horrible acts of cruelty? Are you so foolish as to believe that good and evil do not exist? Are you so foolish as to believe that they have no sources outside of ourselves?

Lori K:
Fairfax County, Virginia
County population in 2005: 1,006,529
http://www.city-data.com/county/Fairfax_County-VA.html
Sweden
Population: 9,031,088
http://www.nationmaster.com/country/sw-sweden
So....stop with the lies, m'kay
And about the Church of Sweden:
As of 2006 75.6% of the Swedes were members of the church. However, only approximately 2% of the church's members regularly attend Sunday services. The reason for the large number of inactive members is that until 1996, all children automatically became members at birth, if at least one of their parents was a member. Since 1996, all children who are baptized become members.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Church_of_Sweden
98% of members aren't regularly active. Maybe that's something to do with the fact that you're a member if either parent was a member, and they're a member if one of their parents was a member and so on and so forth. So most of the members are members by default, not by choice.

Satan is a liar. He always has been since day 1. The very first words out of his mouth was a lie.
"Lie becomes truth when people want to believe it" - Japanese proverb
God is the Almighty (after all, who cast whom out of Heaven???) None is more powerful than Him.
Many people do not know the truth. I know the truth. I have seen the truth. I I testify to the truth.
As a Christian it is my duty and privilege to speak about the truth to all the world to whom all will listen.
What people do with that information after I have spoken to them is their free will choice.
I will point out God is real and Satan is very real. There are only two places a person's soul can go. Heaven is where God wants all people to come to and the other place is hell, the place of enturnal suffering and damnation. Do end up there my friends, there is no possibility of parole EVER.
Drake, hit the nail on the head. ;-)

No, because God will only allow Satan to influence humans for His greater purpose. It is God's gift of free will that allows humans to choose whether or not to serve Him or to reject Him. The decision is totally up to us whether or not we choose eternal life in the Family and Kingdom of God, or eternal death where we will cease to exist forever.

No it just means that people who follow Satan are lazy humans beings and they want the easy way out of everything...
Being a true Christian and believing in God and all His wonderful features is sometimes hard but that's what makes him more powerful. Its easy to hurt someone (SATAN) but its harder to make things better(GOD)
The truth is Satan is mighty but God is ALMIGHTY
He is and always will be the powerful one.

Does an evil one exist? I believe in a unified spiritual realm. From my point of view, my answer must be no. Do their evil ones exist? From my point of view, my answer must be yes. Their evil ones do exist here on Earth as thoughts, beliefs, or expectations in their minds. Maybe some choose to believe in a spiritual conflict between good and evil. I believe evil is an abstract idea used by some predators to vilify and demonize prey, attack self and world esteem of prey, and justify double standards and predatory behavior in a body consuming biosphere divided by a primal conflict between predator and prey.

It suggests that he's a real swell guy that's horrified at the idea of organised religion, holy crusades and the holocausts. He probably did everything in his power to prevent them but I believe God is more powerful. After all, look at all the suffering in the world today. If Satan was more powerful, he'd have ended it all.
