Disconnecting the cable doesn't work as it has an internal battery. The cause in 99% of cases is a water leak into the siren which allows the internal battery to work the siren. The only viable solution is to remove the siren from the car completely. If it won't stay silent then open it up and cut the connectors to the battery. You can replace it with a new one later.

Hi,
Some people have got no idea they talk total rubbish. Anyway I have a celica 190 and not sure if we have same alarms or indeed if you have a 190 I have read manual back to front on alarm function and you will find that your car has a interior alarm and you can pick which mode you want by how many times you bleep if you have children or a pet you can set it to exterior alarm only by one bleep and three bleeps alarms inside and out.if you have interior alarm activated you might find your vents if open will distribute wind around the interior causing your alarm to sound.Hope I have helped.xx

This is an inherent fault in this model - although Toyota refuse to admit it. As silly as it may seem your only immediate answer is to disconnect the feed cables (under the bonnet).
As a long term measure consult your Toyota Dealer. He will deny there is a fault. Contact Toyota Servce and Claims Manager. They will deny there is a fault. Your next step is to report it to The BBC Watchdog Programme. Go to
www.bbc.co.uk follow the prompts to Watchdog. They will follow it up with Toyota. Sadly Toyota are slow to react, but a mention on Watchdog will get them off their backsides. they did a prog. on a faulty Bonnet Catch, which the dealers denied. But when viewers complained - the firm had to recall 20,000 models. GO FOR IT. GET THE JOB DONE.
