Sometimes I just suddenly get back pains, I might be walking then suddenly somewhere on my back starts hurting. The only way for the pain to go away is if i lay down. Like today i walked to the couch and the area around my tailbone was hurting, took around half an hour to disapear.
is it likely i have a bad back? also what can you do to take the pain away quickly?

There might be a knife stuck in there. Have a friend look.

Also, it sounds like someone might be sticking pins in a voodoo doll of you.

Many people in the world have back pain and live with it. I encourage you NOT to accept the pain and especially since it may be serious and a medical study now may save you lots of pain in the future.

I live with pain 24/7/36 due to 6 damaged vert, 3 in my neck, 3 in my back. I share this with you because I have found a number of things do help.

1) Chiropractors work. Period. But, it has to be an issue that they can fix, adjust or correct otherwise you are just as well off going to a back specialist.

2) I installed a hot tub, it helps but there are some pains that heat wont help. Then I use cold packs.

3) IF you find out there is serious issues, find out what your limitations are and dont push past them. Being male, I did, since finding someone to do your heavy lifting work often isnt easy, and I am paying for it permanently.

4) Take pain meds if your doc thinks you need them but dont take them more than necessary because it makes them less effective. I take ALOT of Motrin but they are saying more and more to not take too much of that either.

Find what works and do it...find your limits and stay within them.

Best of luck with it!

a chiropractor is going to be able to find out what is causing your problem and help you get relief. I recommend you see a chiropractor as soon as possible.

For now Take a hot bath with 2c. of dissolved Epsom salts. Soak for 30 minutes. The Epsom salts will help eliminate the lactic acid that forms on the muscles from over exertion.

the best exercise is swimming. It doesn't cause any pain to the joints and exercises all of your muscles. I've enclosed a link where you can learn about back exercises.

You probably need to do some lower back exercises. It will help relieve the pain. The exercises are difficult to explain here, but if you do an internet search for "lower back exercises" you could probably find a website that illustrates the exercises with drawings or photos.

You could go to a chiropractor and see what he says. You cant really get a pure cut diagnostic via the internet. I hope it gets better.
