My vet has a flat fee puppy pack, which is £65 for an initial check, vaccinations at 8 and 10 weeks, microchip at 10 weeks, monthly check ups until 6 months old (with nurse), six month check with the vet, pre-op neutering check and, finally, a 9 month check-up with the vet.
They recommend frequent checks initially, partly to accustom the dog to going to the vet, being examined and handled.
I think this is cheap at the price.
They charge £135 - £185 to neuter a male dog, depending on weight. This cost includes a 'buster' collar, 5 days pain relief and recovery diet.
Annual health check and any vaccination is £37
These are prices for my vet for 2007, prices may be different in your area or with a different vet, this advice is for guidance only

When I took my new pup to the vet for his initial check, it didn't cost much as there was no treatment involved, just the consultation fee of about £22. When he was neutered, the charge was about £50 - which all depends on the size of the dog. Yours will be a little smaller than mine (I have scotties) but, depending on what part of the country you live in, the charge should be similar.
For the initial vaccinations, I paid approx £35 which included the follow up vaccs two weeks later. If you are getting your puppy vaccinated, why not combine the initial check up with this and it will cost you less money.

Hi there mate, We have a 2 year old male westie, great choice of dog may I say. We took charlie to the vets for the initial checks and was only charged for his first immunisation. It was about £30, our vet was able to tell us everything from a simple 5 minute examination. We take him once yearly to have his jab top up and we have a perfectly healthy Westie, You are the best judge of your dog and will know if and when there is something wrong. Please don't get ripped off by paying hundreds of pounds for nothing, Neutering costs £100, and he can be in and out within a few hours. I wish you all the luck with your westie, hope he brings you as much joy as ours has. Best wishes with regards Sarah-Jane.XXX

Like other people have said, it depends on the vet clinic. In most places around here (Australia), a basic consult fee (full physical examination) is $40-$50. Many clinics have a combined consult & vaccination fee, which is around $70-$80. General health blood tests vary depending upon how extensive they are, but range from about $90-$170.
Neutering depends on the age and weight of the dog when you get him done. Again, costs are highly variable depending on where you go- there are reduced-cost spay/neuter clinics such as through animal shelters, but expect to pay upwards of $130 at a regular vet clinic.
Something like a combined intestinal worm/heartworm/flea treatment usually works out at around $10-$15 a month.

...You will need 2 visits to the vet for the 1sr and 2nd innoculations, ask your vet the cost but prob about £30+ plus worming. Then every few weeks more wormers till its about 4/5 months old. Then once a year a booster innoc and every few months worming tablets. Neutering Im not sure about a westie but anything from £100 again ask your vet when you are getting his innocs. You need to keep these up regularly or any insurance you take out will probably not cover any illness.

You will neeed to call vets in your area.
Pups need to start booster shots at between 6-8 weeks old.
Then they need their rabies booster and that depends on where you live when it's done.
Even where I live teh prices vary very widely just for example I had a male cat that needed to be neutered and the price ranged from $35,$65, $75 and one was $125
so the best is for you to call around and check yourself.
As well as different areas charge differently.

depends on the vet hun. they charge different prices depending on the vet you use. ring around. neutering usually goes on the weight of the dog, and since you have a small dog it shouldnt cost that much, again, ring around.

Ring around your local vets - costs vary from area to area and from practice to practice (the most expensive isn't necessarily the best. )
Check out this site for breed information - hopefully, you are buying from a reputable breeder, WHWT are sadly one of the breeds which attracts puppy farmers.

Since this will vary from place to place, why not ring the vets? It's won't cost anything!

You can expect to pay about $200 your first visit. Puppy needs stool samples, blood tests, second set of puppy shots, etc.
And that's without any kennel cough or worms.
