This is a hypothetical question. In this case, the boy tries not to/doesn't really like the girl, but he kind of does like her and he still would like to take her out just as friends and without trying anything fresh on her. He just wants to spend some time with her without her cheating on her boyfriend.

I thought about the situation myself and I've got the answer. The action of taking the girl to the movies in it of itself is not cheating. If I had a girl and I knew I could trust her to be faithful, I wouldn't mind her going somewhere with someone else to something, depending on what it is. Basically, if there's trust in that relationship, the boy could take the girl to the movies and they boyfriend wouldn't have to worry about it. Also, if the boyfriend is really that good of a boyfriend his girl wouldn't want to go somewhere with someone else.
P.S Some people answered this question talking about me and I said this was hypothetical. People need to pay attention.

If there is nothing but friendship and the boyfriend is aware of that, then its not cheating. If she doesn't tell him, either before they go out, or soon after, the boyfriend might see it as cheating.

yes that is totally fine as long as you
1) try to do anything with her
2) tell the bf
3) stop any kind of affection towards each other like kissing and so forth. hugs are fine but dude its gonna be hard. cuz if u sorta like this chick thigns will get carried away and u will forget about the bf.

yes it is..if it was my bf n he found out u want 2 take me out 2 the movies hed beat u up black n blue..the grl has a bf..dnt u get it?they r supposed 2 b the ones goin 2 the movies..oh n just 4 the record most ppl want 2 b alone cuz outside is too crowded so they go 2 the movies n make out n r left alone..if u want 2 take her out just as a friend then go 2 a cafe..not the movies!
