No idea what this 'all time' business refers to as I thought God was outside the contraints of time as we know it- but anyway, I'm going to assume it means 'infinity' as most of us can understand that we don't understand something that's uncreated and will exist forever... I could go round in circles with this one, but I'll shut up.

Anyway-

If the Qur'an has always been with God, then why is the Qur'an very context specific and full of abbrogations? It seems that for something that's always been with God, God sure changes His mind over things, for example alcohol. Why was alcohol suddenly deemed an inappropriate drink to consume when His previous Prophets would drink.

Life is full of intoxicants. Love is an intoxicant, working out in the gym can leave you feeling giddy, and research done on those waking up in the morning who are 'night people' has shown that they are more apt to make judgements based on stereotypes than 'morning people'. Everything can affect our judgement, the extent to which depends on a large part on our genes, so why not take individuals into consideration- why make blanket judgements?

Holy Quran is the word of God and of course word of God is not a creation. Before God Almighty Past present, future are all one in His knowledge. Your question is something related to His Knowledge and according to His knowledge every action and every incident that happen or happened or is going to happen are recorded and decreed. This we call the 'Destiny or fate'

To the friend above. Allah is the God Almighty that was worshipped by Abraham, Moses, Jesus Christ and all other Prophets and the guided men. Allah is the arabic word for One True God.

al-Lawh al-Mahfooz can never be changed. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “The pens have been lifted and the pages have dried.” Narrated and classed as saheeh by al-Tirmidhi (2516), from the hadeeth of Ibn ‘Abbaas. As for the pages which are in the hands of the angels, Allaah may command His angels to change it because of reason, but in the end it will not be anything other than that which was decreed from eternity. This is indicated by the verse in which Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):

“Allaah blots out what He wills and confirms (what He wills). And with Him is the Mother of the Book (Al‑Lawh Al‑Mahfooz)”

[al-Ra’d 13:39]

With regards to the gradual prohibition of alcohol, it was a mercy from Allah to the Muslims in that time who were some of them Alcohol sellers and some are Alcohol addicted. So it was to change a bad habit and to not disturb their economy.

They wont see it this way, Allah can change his mind because eh is bringing the m along slowly...Its a ridiculous idea. The God is righteous and his truth remains the same....Allah will accept good deeds and overlook bad deed and has degree judgements..this sin is not as bad as that sin...Lesser sins...They do not understand this makes Allah imperfect....they overlook the fact this Allah could not have existed before Muhamamd as it does not agree with the God that was worshipped before Muhammmad though alah says he is this God...they are forever stucxk wiht a God that before Muhamamd came could not keep his word...which also is nto in agreement wiht the Qu'ran which insist Allah's word can not be changed...the propblems with this religion are numerous and Muslims refuse somehow to accept the reality of it.

Edit to Ismail If Allah is God because Allah means God....Is this not a word game? If I name my dog Allah does this mean you pray to my dog? If The Qu'ran is in agreement wiht the prophets of God why does the Qu'ran teach different than the words of the prophets? Abraham knew Jesus and said the lord would provide himslef a lamb/. Moses taught the tree of life..Isaiah said the Messiah would be God wiht us and atone for sin...Why is this not taught by the Allah of Islam?

Good point. I too wonder about the myriad abrogations. Why does God change his mind? Surely he could have got it right first time around? Unless...

Hey, I know! What if God didn't write the Qur'an but men did? That would explain a lot of the backtracking
