Yes, if you do not heavily protect your skin you can get cancer from UV.

It's because, the normal light cannot diffuse into skin, even if its diffuse, light's energy is not enough to break or alter molecular structures of DNA. But UV has far more energy than light and can break or alter molecular structures of DNA. This MAY cause a cancer on your skin.

skin cancer for sure, but now they have so called healthy tanning beds which dont cause problems, only the very vain buy into such non sense-listen ppl
TAN IS THE BODIES NATURAL REACTION TO DAMAGE
tanning is NOT good for you at all no matter how you do it!
why are ppl so obsessed with tans anyways,its just not considered cool to be too white these days,hmm ppl having certain complexions as a style, wow what a shallow world

Sunscreens protect you from the very type of light sunbeds produce. People use sunscreen not to get skin diseases including, but not limited to, cancer. Other people instead of staying away from UV get into a device that gives them plenty of it.

And people who use sunbeds would surely deserve it!!!!

Sunbeds have been linked to several types of skin cancer, including malignant melanoma. There is no such thing as a safe tan.

I have been told by the people there at tanning beds that if you have fair skin that you have the risks of getting cancer.

no not if you know how often and how long,dont overdo and not for years.....yes I read too about the Britis woman of 29 who died,she went in twice/week for years and years....stupid but I think those people operating these places should give better healthrisks but in the end...nobody putsa gun to your head and hey whats up with white natural skin...if you wanna look young stay out also from natural sunbathing...

Don't know that its actually been proven that they do, but they sure as hell contribute to skin cancers.
