My hair has been parting all over the place. And feeling thin in some places. I'm 18. Aren't I too young to lose my hair?

Tonight while was in in the shower washing my hair, I noticed that hairs on my shoulders and chest that fell from my head while rinsing out my hair. I counted 10-12 hairs.

Is this normal?

Whether or not that is normal, I cannot answer. You may want to go to the doctors. What I can suggest is some ways to stimulate your hair growth. Blood flow to your scalp stimulates hair growth. There is a product called Nioxin. You can find it at hair salons. This also isn't going to take a chunk out of your pocket. It has a mint stimulator that produces blood flow to your scalp which helps rapid growth of you hair. When you are in the shower really massage your scalp it will help the blood flow to your scalp as well. I went through chemotherapy and my hair completely thinned out. I didn't lose it all but had some issues getting it back to the regular thickness it normally was. Trust me it works. I really hope this helps! Best of luck...

It is normal, in fact, you lose about 100 hairs a day from somewhere on your body. The causes of baldness, even at your age, are internal. See your doctor to be sure it's not nutritional, or a curable condition.Daily shampooing is not the cause. You are, however, wasting a lot of money unnecessarily. Unless you work in construction, or some other outdoor, dirty job, you don't need to shampoo more often than once a week.

Also, so that the hair you do have is in the best shape it can be, purchase Nexus products at a local salon.

There are several reasons you might loose your hair but today's shampoos are not one of them. You might first look into your family tree, Mom's side is usually how you inherit what is now called male pattern baldness.
There are other reasons too like RADIATION. This can be from work or home, Microwave radiation or some radioactive material . The radiation cause is rare so you are safe but it does cause hair loss. See a hair specialist to be sure and possibly prevent continuing hair loss. Good luck

Washing your hair every day is normal and recommended. Maybe your shampoo is too strong and its causing your hair to fall. Try changing your shampoo to a more sensitive brand like Dove. I used to use Finesse and it caused me to lose hair so i changed the brand.

It can also be poor nutrition in your diet, stress or from heat (humans shed hair and dead skin every day, we shed more when we sweat)

It can also be something worse, you maybe going through premature balding - just like older men lose hair - you may be losing it sooner. Or it can be something wrong with the follicles of your head, you may be ill and not know it......i can go on.
There are so many possibilities, I really think you should have a doctor or dermatologist check you if it continues.
I hope its nothing serious.

Nope, You need to contact a doctor and find out why is this happening. It could be anything from your diet to stress to heraditary conditions.
Lastly if you need something to help grow your hair, this may help. My girl friend used a tanning bed for the first time about 2 years ago and immediately she started loosing patches of hair. Some one told us to go to an Indian/Pakistani grocery store and ask for hair oil called "Dabur Amla". It comes in a glass bottle with hunter green label. Any way it has a spicy kinda smell and can be downright stinky. My GF used it for 2 months every other night applying and waiting for 15 mins before washing her hair. Her hair came back thicker and healthier.

It may or may not help you. It worked for us......

Yes it is normal to lose upto 50 strands a day.
washing everyday will not harm your hair. its good to wash hair everyday and it is must in case of persons with oily/greasy hai. but you must use a mild shampoo or that is herbal based. dont use anti dandruff shampoo as they are more harsh and concentrated. washing the hair everyday with a mild shampoo will itself keep scalp clean and you will not get dandruff. if you feel u lose more hair then you must oil massage your hair atleast once a week. this will strengthen your hair roots and condition the scalp. if it is genitics or male pattern baldness no shampoo will help but washing everyday has nothing to do with hairfall

If your hair gets oily or you simply need to wash it daily from other reasons just use a shampoo for "frequent use" and you won't get bald unless that's not in your genetic luggage! lol
If u use to much hair gel that can also cause hair loss. I recommend a gently hair mousse with B5 vitamin.

I know men who were bald at 25, sorry but it's true. You can try Rogaine. I don't know if it works or not. Every man I know that is losing his hair just cuts it in a buzz cut (like Bruce Willis)
Washing your hair everyday doesn't cause baldness if you use a good shampoo and conditioner. Also try not to comb your hair as much, use your fingers instead.

its really a matter of opinion and it also depends on how ur hair is. it could be thin, brittle, or thick and full. try to remember that a lot of ppl do loose about 100 hairs a day and that most of the time u don't notice it. if ur really worried about it tho try talking to ur doctor and hopefully they can clear things up for u better than ne-one on the internet!
