I broke up with my girlfriend because she doesn't trust me at all. She said that she doesn't understand that trust is a huge part of a relationship. Then she asked me why should she trust me and I told her about how I have been faithful since the beginning and all.
So then i asked her why i should trust her and she said "you can't and i never asked you to"...
So as much as I love her...does it sound like it is really over?

im afraid it is over
by her answer about trust it shows that she never really cared about the relationship or that she doesnt care about trying to fix what was wrong and trying to be with you again
most girls if its the guy that breaks up with her she is the one who will be sad and win back the guy instead of trying to ruin any chance she has with the guy
im sorry things ended like this for you but you did the right thing in ending it
there is a reason why things happen it is hard to realize what the reason is but only time will help you get over her so in the meantime just try to focus on enjoying your summer

The reason she says that she can not trust you is that she is probably feeling guilty because she is cheating on you. Tell her to hit the road. Why would you want a relationship like that Not only might she end up giving you some sort of disease, but she is showing you no respect whatsoever!!
Find a nice girl that understand what making a commitment means. You deserve better!!

Well.
It sounds like she has some serious trust issues going on. Talk to her about it further before deciding if its over. Ask her what her concerns are. If she says something like affair... do not get angry at her despite maybe wanting to. Try reassuring her first and talking it through.
What makes her feel their is no trust.
Just try and keep it cool.
About the past thing... was it her who had a bad experience in the past or something you may have done in the past? If it is her having bad experience with a man in the past, reassurance is really needed. If she gets to needy though you may need to tell her how its making you feel.
Althought the past can define us, there comes a point where we cannot let our actions be negatively affected by the past.

trust is a very important part of a relationship..my soon to be x husband is finding that out...i trusted my x husband with everything and i was very honest with him cause that is what i wanted in a marriage was trust..its a huge deal to have...but he could never trust me..and i cant figure it out for the life of me why..i mean the guy could not even trust me to help pick out a pair of jeans for him or cook something right the way he likes it or even little things like going to the liquer store to get change for the laundry...he had no reason at all not to trust me yet he would not even try..so ya it was very bad for the mariage..it was like i was incapable of doing anything..so if she does not care to have that in your relationship ..trust...then let her go cause your in for a long road a head of you with lots of problems...also some people are just so used to being self sufficient and self reliable..independant that they are not going to let themselves trust cause they know its easier to trust themselves...

i would say its over in the sense that trust is a huge factor and if you cant trust her than the relationship isnt really going to work out cause you might end up always worring about her and sh emost likely wont think twice when it comes to another guy.....

i just think that it should be over.
If she doesn't understand what trust is
well, that's gotta be a huge problem.
I can't belive she told you that you can't trust her and she never asked you to....
she's sick. she's not worth it.
date someone else.
don't waste your time on her.

sorry dude, but i think so. and the way she answered your question implies that she did something to break your trust. so give yourself time to heal, then when you can think clearly, talk to her in a mature way about what went wrong and try to patch up what you can.
good luck
