The car was not being driven until i got it running and reliable. Then i wanted to make sure my girlfriend liked it. While driving she didnt see a red light and got T-boned. I hadnt put insurance on it cause i was going to transfer it into her name. I have current insurance just not on that car. Is there anything i can do. Also she doesnt have insurance because she doesnt own a car.

When did you first purchase the car? If it was less than 2 weeks before the collision, you may have coverage under your policy for newly acquired vehicle. Some companies allow up to 30 days, if it was more than that you are out of luck. You should have called your insurance company up to add the car when you bought it (unless it didn't run at all), even if it was in the shop because if the mechanic test drove it, you would be responsible for any damages caused because you are the owner. Also, what plates were used when she drove the car? You can't drive a car without valid plates either. Once you signed the car over to your GF you could have called your insurance back & taken the car off.
I hope there were no injuries because you will be responsible for them too. You need to pay the damages to the other car as the owner of the vehicle & depending on the state (if it is a PIP state, their insurance will pay their medicals), you pay all of their medical bills too.
Good luck to you, hope it doesn't end up costing you too much. Expensive lesson to learn but NEVER drive a car without insurance, even just a quick test drive.

You say that you didnt have insurance until the dcar was drivable.. well dear... it was now drivable... and you still didnt have insurance. Looks like you got yourself in that little pickle didnt you? You obviously didnt care about other innocent people on the road... why should your car get fixed?

To answer your question.. you are compeltely out of luck. If youve owned that vehicle long term you will have no coverage under your insurance. Only time you would have coverage MAYBE is if it was a replacement vehicle for another one of your vehicles (like a rental.) You will be responsible for damages to your car as well as damages to the other vehicle and injuries in the other vehicle.

I guess you learned your lesson :-/

Tough break . I think you are out of luck. She will most likley be cited and fined for no insurance and causing the accident. The other driver can try to sue for damages as well.

Driver and car uninsured?? All you can do is pay the bills, hopefully, no one was hurt in the accident. Your heart was in the right place, but it may come back to hurt you. Good luck.

Yeah, there is something you can do, pay for the damages yourself and next time buy her insurance. Be glad it wasn't a serious accident.

Sorry, nothing you can do. An uninsured driver driving an uninsured car is a no-win situation.
