All of this is part of the Battle of Good and Evil and then Jesus is born. Jesus teaches his imistry, gets executed, returns from the dead and God wins the hissy fit?

Why did God in his hissy fit with Satan, have to unleash so much suffering on to people only to eventually send his son to get ridicueld, brutalized and murdered? What was the point of cosntantly getting peopel caught in the middle in such horroific ways, just porve himself over Satan?

Are we not tempted to sin and is it not Satan testing us? God and Satan try to beat us into submission and after massacre after massacre God sends his son down to get ridiculed and tortured to death? This is all kind of disturbing.

sounds like Bush and Hussein have a hissy fit and all these people are dying.

Lucifer is the angel of light who thought he was better than God and Lucifer decided to have battle with God and if you don't follow God you're going with Lucifer.

Well at least you are thinking and that has to be a good thing. When you begin to use logic to reason out your conclusion you come to the point in which you have arrived. There is just no logic in the story that is for sure, too many contradictions. Now I mean truly if you were god would you have done things differently..yes you probably would have. I mean I think if I were god I would have created everything perfect in the first place..I mean no Satan at all, but then I'm not god am I. Perhaps if god ever decides to give it all a go again god might give me a job as a consultant. I mean I could be the Gordon Brown of the god government...wow..

A hissing contest?? Satan was out-gunned.

In the Old Testament, Satan is named as the killer of only TEN people: Job's children, as a result of that bet with God, Job 1:1-19. God was an accomplice, as He allowed Satan to kill them.

Meanwhile, God is estimated to have killed about 33 million, including stacks of presumably innocent babies.

God, clearly the hissier, was SUCH an alpha male before He became a Christian. After that, He mellowed slightly and became an alpha-omega male. It was a whole alphabet of improvement.

Well, your focus is a little askew. It's true Satan is God's chief rival.....but, really no threat. Except he is a threat to God's beloved creation, mankind. Here's where God insists on intruding and designing a plan to redeem mankind, because He so loves us. He loves us enough to sacrifice His only Son, Jesus Christ, Who's death and Resurrection pays the penalty for our sins, thus buying us back from hell's destruction. God doesn't have to prove Himself to Satan or anyone. God just is. He already is the winner. The point, my friend, is He wants us to be winners, too and is willing to help us come over to His side before it's too late. Jesus is the way.

God creates everyone with the ability to choose. When we procreate we know there is a potential our children will be evil. If you were able to create a child that was only capable of good would you choose that over free will; even if your choice could lead to suffering and disappointment. Would any parent of an infant trade what they have for a perfectly "good" baby? The bottom line is that every criminal has had a choice and chooses not to do good.

God didn't get in a hissy fit with Satan. All the times when god "shows his might" in the bible aren't because Satan was doing something bad, it was mostly to prove is existence to non-believers. And Jesus was to clear mankind of original sin, not to beat the devil.

it's the other way around.. WHAT IS SATAN TRYING TO PROVE TO GOD? THAT HE'S A HISSY FIT? just reread your question... i think, that everything distructive to mankind is the work of satan. God only allows to prove satan that no matter how much destruction satan causes mankind still God will prevail.

Let me ask you something. If none of those things had ever happened and the Lord's people just waltzed out of Egypt and everything, would you believe that God was at work? The Lord knew he would have to prove his existance to the world multiple times before everyone would get the picture.

You know, If you look back into History, You will see that in fact it was MAN who has caused all the suffering and still does to this day.
Until Man learns to get along with himself, then it will not change
another point is the fact that man cannot stand the thought of someone or something being over him

My, my. You're leaving the most obvious thing out of the equation: people's desire to sin. That is what leads to destruction. Not anything to do with God.
