It is very unfortunate that in India there are no laws protecting one from vandalism. I have silently suffered two such acts in the past 10 days. Nothing can be done and I am only seething with anger and anguish.
There have been 2 big gashes on my Car (Black car, may I add) one on the door and another one on the side of the boot. And it is a big graffiti made from a sharp object, may be a key or a nail.
My car is always parked on the street as there is no parking facility in the building...and the street urchins somehow have targeted just my car, I am wondering why! Maybe even they find black a bit too alluring..
But it is something I really worked my butt off, earning. So I feel extremely disgusted and it pains to see some street kid do damage to my hard earned asset and I am not able to do much about it other than fretting and fuming!!

Anyone faced similar trauma?

This is more prevelant in the South, as I have heard several scary stories from others who I know.

Is there any redressal??
In India, going to the police even for something a lot more serious than this - is like a Big Joke!
I just hope the person who did this, meets with some fatal accident or dies of some nasty disease!

roadside parked cars usually encounter such problems... and that is a local area problem...
however, we should not condemn the entire country...

I think a lot of people have had the same problem that you have had. You try and keep the car perfect, and some kid will key the side for no good reason other than we wanted to destroy something nice.

That is terrible! Is there any way that you could install an alarm in your car that would send a shrieking noise to those who vandalize? I would suggest a cover, but I don't think that would make a difference. So sad to hear that there are so many who don't have any regard for your hard work.

take an exstension cord, remove the female end, strip the insulation off the wires, place one wire on the chassis of the car, place the other wire in the ground 5 ft away from the attached wire.spray ground area with water to wet the ground around the car, plug the cord in and you are ready to go.sorry bad guys, but this seems to work well.

stay and hide out in your car and watch for them when they come to damage your car get out and totally freak out on them and see if they like that and if they will want to do it again

or have somethin like a sticker on your car with a police sign or something so they won't wanna do anything to it

sucks though

good luck
