Whats the purpose of this world? Spiritual growth. Can there be spiritual growth when there is no challenge? No- there can only be growth when we are faced with a choice- and make it. So for their to be any purpose to this world, then their had to be a choice for Adam and Eve to make, to eat, or not to eat.
As for the snake- it is the Jewish understanding that in the garden of Eden our natural inclination was towards Goid will, to instinctively do the right thing- as such the Yetzer hara (evil inclination) was externalised in the snake in order to have some power, otherwise it would have had no power at all. The snake is their inclination towards wrong personified, its tempting them away from what they insitinctively now to be right, to the wrong path.
It is also taught in the midrash that Adam would have eventually eaten from the Tree of Life, thus maing him imortal. By chasing him out of the Garden of Eden before he could partake of the fruit of the tree of Life, he was doomed to die. The midrash also notes that the timespan given for an avergae life is 70 years- and Adam was originally destined to live for 1000 years. Due to his sin, one life (70 years) was taken from his total days- and he died at the age of 930.

No. Your not making sence. God put the tree there to test Adam and Eve to see if they had faith, respect, and love in him, it was only 1 tree out of all the hundreds of other trees, just that 1 tree, how hard was that to obey? Not hard at all. God made an Angel and this angel once served him, but then this Angel thought......Who is god, who does he think he is, I can make Adam and Eve listen to me, not him, I bet I can overrule him. So this angel grew evil and had hate for god, this angel became Satan the devil. So when Eve was in the garden Satan acted like he was a talking snake, it wasnt just some random snake out of the garden that god put a bad deceptive personality in, it was Satan acting as a serpent. And how do you think god lied to Adam when he told him if you eat fruit from off of the tree of knowledge you will surely die? Adam did die. His not living right now is he? So what other kind of condition could he be in? Yes as Jehovah said you will die, Adam Surely did. Jehovah first made the earth for people to live on forever and populate it so we could have a paradise earth, when adam and eve sinned and disobeyed jehovah we lost that priviledge. Maybe you should do more research on the bible, or restate your question, because it looks like you have no idea what went on in that period of time.

It was an obvious test, they were not starving and told not to eat, they were giving an abundance of food, God put a limit to this one tree in the middle of the garden, So it's like he said " you can eat from all the other tree's to satisfaction, but this one tree do not touch it do not eat from it because in the day you do you will surely die. Also about the snake God did not tell Satan to become a snake and deceive Eve he did that on his own free will. God did not lie as soon as they ate the fruit they started to grow old and die. They were perfect before and they were going to live for eternity, so when they ate from that tree that was taken away they didn't die instantaneously, but they knew that they would start to die. We are in a constant dying state we don't get younger and healthier, we deteriorate until death.

The forbidden tree was put there inorder to let people know what is right and what is wrong.
The evil spirit took the upportunity in having entered to the snake to tempt Eve in eating the forbidden fruit of the forbidden tree. which is called the tree of knowledge to be right or wrong.
God can not lie and he never lied to Adam. Do you know that Adam died. All mankind are dying. TAheir is no eternal like to mankind in this world except when you will go to heaven.
Be advised to read and read the bible so that you will come to understand it. OK

Perhaps He was testing them to see if they would obey Him. There was only one rule.....you'd think they could at least obey one rule. I really don't know why He placed that particular tree in the Garden, but had they obeyed Him, they would still be alive.
God didn't give the snake a deceptive personality.....Satan fell from heaven because of his pride....he wanted to be equal to God and really thought he was. Big reality check! He was deceptive and calculating in his need to overthrow God. \
God didn't lie to Adam. Until he ate that fruit (we don't know it was an apple) he could have lived forever in perfection in the Garden. But as soon as he disobeyed God (sinned) by eating that fruit, he became mortal and he began the process of aging leading to a physical death. These things are all pretty basic for the Christian, but I would be interested in hearing your theory if it complies with these corrected facts. As it is, you are misinformed or making false assumptions.

God put the tree there because he could......and the snake was the devil....he was an Angel in Heaven who was cast out because he was prideful and wanted to better than God.....so, that is why he deceived Eve into getting Adam to eat from the tree......and Adam did die in a sense.......you see, he was in the garden, he did not have to work, he was happy and there was no sin, there was sickness, there were no tears, so you see, what we live with now is our death here in this wonderful place we live....However, there is a better place to go called Heaven......They are all connected.....
So to God....the first one to answer this question, I do not have the mind of a 6 year old and I understand it all to well....I hope one day you will to friend....I wish you the best of luck....Keep on reading the Bible and hopefully you will come to realize it is the Truth and the Light......
and please e-mail with your theory......I would like to know....

the snake is the devil who tempts, the forbidden fruit is free will. Adam died in the respect that he has free will and can choose to do what he wants, including following the snake. the devil is Lucifer the angle of light.."let there be light" Lucifer got big for his britches and decides overthrow God, and this is the start of the war between God and the Devil. Notice animals aren't evil? they just live in paradise, they have no choices they just survive and have no free will and do what is instinctual 24-7.
the whole thing is also just a theory or a metaphor anyways....!!

God put the forbidden fruit in the garden of Eden to test Adam's obedience.God's original intention was for man to live forever. When Adam chose to partake of the fruit, he set himself on the path to death, however eventual the decline of life may have been, because in God's eyes he was already dead. The snake was actually an angel who deceived Eve, talking her into trying the forbidden fruit. Because humans were not created to be able to resist God's helpers(angels), the fault actually lies with Adam, who was not influenced by an angel-he chose to disobey God by joining his wife willingly in her disobedience to God.

Why does God give you the choice of murdering someone? He gives us all choices, because he is a teacher, and he tries and teaches us to make the right choices. Adam and Eve would have lived like non-experienced fools if they did not eat the apple; they learned something from it. That is what life is about; learning and experiencing, not expecting God to push us away from every little predicament that might phase us.
(All of that is what I've learned; what I think. I am not stating I know it is true, it may not be true.)

Another flaw. If god is all knowing and knew that Adam and Eve would eat from the forbidden tree before he even created them, then why didn't god jst cast them out after creating them?
