i have a guy friend and he's extremely funny and amazing. the problem is that he always jokes with me in ways that my boyfriend does not like.. he would call me "babe" and say he's better than my boyfriend. my bf hates it when i talk to him as well. what should i do to not hurt them?

You need to tell this friend how much you like/love/care for your boyfriend and you dont appreciate everything he says negative about him. "I'm better than he is," is a negative statement and should not be stated to you! He should know better! Sounds like your friend truly likes you and wants you for himself. If thats not the case, idk what is wrong with him! Let him know he needs to cut back on the pet names or else (or else lose your friendship)
Tell your boyfriend to ease up a little, and that you have talked to your friend to tell him to step back.
A true friend will obey your wishes for your relationship & friendship...
Your boyfriend will understand and give it time. =)

you should talk to both of them. Explain to your boyfriend that he is a good friend that you dont want to give up but that he needs to trust you and that you are just friends. and tell your friend to try not to act like that as much when your boyfriend is around because it bothers him if hes a good friend he should understand

If your boyfriend was confident in his role, he would not be bothered by his friend calling you babe.
Sounds like you need to decide which one you want the most and give them more attention.

Explain to your Friend that you are dating someone and he has to tone his words down just a tad.Then explain to your b/f that your friend does not mean now harm in them but only to give his friend complements all the time.Maybe your b/f might understand why he is doing so.

Don't discuss your and your friend's conversations with your bf unless he asked about them. Sounds as if you may be interested in your friend. If you are, be honest with your current bf, before doing anything that you may regret.

hey its very critical stage i advice you to leave your friend & stop talking to him as he will hamper ur relationship with your bf , your bf is your love, be true to him & break friendship with your friend as it could make your bf feel very bad and he loves you that's why he doesn't says anything to you he trusts you, so don't break your bf's trust. sacrifice your friendship for your love.
