This is apparent in most every faith. It may not be true at your particular church, but I can guarantee you it is true somewhere within your faith. It is human nature.

Look,I used to be a catholic.I am so grateful to Jehovah for allowing this wonderful priviledge to be called one of his witnesses.
I too find that a problem at my congregation. But the thing we need to remember is that we are all imperfect. All of us.And it is our imperfect human nature that gets the best of us at times.
The important thing to keep in mind is that it is Jehovah God that we are serving. And as Col 3:13 reminds us to:"Continue putting up with one another, and forgiving one another freely if anyone has a cause for complaint against another."
Jehovahs Witnesses are more harshly critisied than other religions. At least we can go to a Kingdom Hall and be welcomed even though we arent known at the particular hall we may visit.Witnesses still display the most love of any christian demoniation I have ever seen.
We are all trying to practice what the Bible teaches. It is not easy.Just because we are Jehovah's Witnesses does not mean we are infallible!

I am one of JW's, and i understand what you are talking about. (or i think i do) I find it really hard to judge someone because of what they "dont" do. Its hard to know the limitations of others especially when it comes to the ministry. Like the bible says, Jehovah knows our limitations. So i took that into consideration that i cant judge others for what they dont do. I personally cannot Judge this person. Instead i might instise them to go out in service with me and maybe there we would have a chance to see why they dont do a lot of ministry things (if that is the case)
You also have to remember that Faith without works is having no faith at all, and that bad association spoils usefull habits. And its not only answer the question at the meetings or attending the meetings that makes someone spiritual its much more then that!! because some might be shy and not answer question but have the best love and relationship for jehovah, and they might not make it to the meetings regularly, because of personal issues. you have to remember that all Jehovah's witnesses are different. I know of a story of a lady who's husband would refuse to let her go to the meetings, (he was not a JW) sometimes he would hide the car keys and do other things and she used to miss meetings. My point of all of this is that we dont know each others limitations and so we should not judge. But we are all imperfect...
BTW: Everything we do is for Jehovah.

I am one of Jehovah's Witnesses. I think we try to be perfect but we are not of course. It say's in the Bible that we are sappose to try to be perfect. In saying that we are like every sort of human being no matter how close to perfection they are, they judge someone else at one time or another, it is not especially a hobby of only JW's to judge people. I do have more respect for people when they are more succesful, great parents, or when they go far and beyond and out of there way to serve Jehovah God. Everyone does it we judge people all the time you do it too. Being judgemental dosent allways mean a bad thing it's normal to see someone and recognize their quality's either bad or good. So please don't single us out. We try our best to be loving and help people better their life's by applying Bible principals. Thank you
Love, Sable

Easy answer: we're NOT constantly judging one another. It's easy to tell if someone is merely going through the motions and has very little actual spirituality. It always comes out in the end. We do accept people at face value, giving them the benefit of the doubt.......until their actions, speech, or conduct gives us reason not to anymore.

You will misjudge them coz they are really have different ways of practicing their faith'for JW, faith w/out work is a dead faith,so they are so enthusiastic when it comes to showing their faith.I have the opportunity to visit Watch tower in NYC and observe their ways they have great emphasis in disciple of their members of the congregation but also has great respect in others beliefs although I never joined the society of JW I have long time friends who are JW

JH, like 7DA, is a fringe sect always in need of new recruits. Therefor, like a pyramid-sceme organization, each member's value is based on how many new suckers the've reeled in. Without the new recruits and the relentless recruitment drives, the group would collapse from its lack of a firm foundation.

If people are so gullible then I guess they deserve everything they get. How can any logical, intelligent person go along with those teachings anyway. I think lots of them are desperately lonely people who are frightened to face reality. It's almost as bad as Joseph Smith finding special spectacles left on earth by some angel so he could read some gold plates. I mean really....

Aside from religious reasons you may get, I believe there are a couple of other reasons for this type of group behavior.
Maybe they're so hyper focused on one another because they're forbidden to have outside relationships, so, the microscope is turned inward, so to speak.
What you mention reminds me of a child with a remote, judging parent. The love from the parent is conditional, and in danger of being withheld at any time for any minor infraction. That child will do anything they can for approval of their parent, scrambling and fighting to to appear better than their brothers and sisters, to gain praise and affection and security.
If these people were secure in knowledge they were loved unconditionally by God for who they are with no strings attached, and if their leaders told them this with regularity, I truly believe there would not be this type behavior.

It is true that only God and Christ can truly know what is in the heart of a person.
(1 Samuel 16:7) Mere man sees what appears to the eyes; but as for Jehovah, he sees what the heart is.
(Acts 1:24) O Jehovah, who know the hearts of all...
So humans are left to look for more outward signs of a person's heart condition. It seems odd to criticize a person who follows the suggestions of the bible itself in choosing his closest associates.
(Luke 6:45) Out of the heart’s abundance his mouth speaks.
(Matthew 12:34-35) How can you speak good things, when you are wicked? For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. The good man out of his good treasure sends out good things
(Romans 10:10) For with the heart one exercises faith for righteousness, but with the mouth one makes public declaration for salvation.
(Hebrews 13:15-16) Let us always offer to God a sacrifice of praise, that is, the fruit of lips... Moreover, do not forget the doing of good and the sharing of things with others
